5 month old

I know every child is different but we are thinking about planning a trip around Easter and we will have our 5 yr old, 3 yr old (who have been twice so far) and our 5 month old. We were wondering if any one has any experience bringing a child that young to the parks.

The youngest I ever brought a child was 9 months, but this Febuary we will be bringing a 7 month old and friends will have a 6 month old with us.

You sound like seasoned parents and should do just fine!

In my experince a 5 month old should be great, if you have all you need to take care of him or her and go acourding to the baby's needs you should be fine. (I love how babies that age can sleep anywhere anytime.) If mom is nursing that makes life even easier. If not bottled water is a must. At 5 months they aren't eating a lot of soild food (if any) so that should make things easier.

Children under 6 months shouldn't have sun screen, but I would, it is just one month after all. Try the kind you us out before you leave to be sure there isn't any recations. Ask your ped before you go. If you are flying have your Dr. check the babies ears before you leave to be sure they are clear. Nothing worse then a baby is sore ears on a airplane.

Be sure to bring your own stroller, Disney ones aren't good for babies. Make srue is is easy to fold for the busses, has a good canapy and reclines. If you hang a bag of the back, put ankle wieghts around the frount legs of the stroller to counter blance. Also bring a baby carrier of some kind with you (sling or baby bjorn.) Bring extra passifers if the baby uses them. You would be amazed how easy they get lost.

Bring baby's blanket and soft toys from home for the smell of home and comfort. Maybe try to get the baby used to sleeping in a pack and play (resorts provide them). Disney doesn't have many baby toys avilable so bring some of your own. (they ones they do you can buy at other store near home for much cheaper.)

Have a great trip and take lots of pictures.

Thanks DisneyPhd lots of good advice. Pictures, pictures, pictures will be taken I guarantee it. Our first trip with the kids (10/03) we took about 200 and about 300 this last time (May 04). Wow a year ago today we were there with the kids on their first trip and now we are planning our third trip, are we nutz or what!!! Again thanks for the advice, especially the ankle weights for a counterbalance - never thought of that before good idea.

Dippy Dog, sounds like you have been bitten by the WDW bug!!! It is fun before you have kids, it is even more of a blast when they get so excited about it. Last year when you made your 1st trip you didn't even know about the baby! (if my calucations are right.)

Congradulations on the baby.
