3 questions...

First, we've almost always stayed at the All Star Resorts because we are NEVER in the room, and it's a shame to just waste all that money. But this past September, my parents and sister stayed at Pop Century. They said it was closer to the parks(besides AK)...is it?

Is the bus system better at POP than it is at the All Stars?

And also, we like the shortest time to the parks as possible, since that's where we spent every moment on our vacations...which of all the value and moderate resorts is closest to MGM, MK and Epcot, and ALSO has a good bus system (ie doesn't make five or six stops before leaving the hotel, etc.)?

Lastly, I've been going to Disney since I was five. (I'm now 23) I never knew this website existed; you guys have given me more tips and help in the past few years, and it's made our trips fantastic...so thanks!!!

Pop will be you best bet all around. This is not due only to location but because their bus system services only that resort and only has one stop. With the exception of AKL and I think maybe WL all of the other resorts share bus systems with other resorts and/or have multiple stops. For example PO has I think 1 stop at FQ and an additional 4 at RS.
The only way you get really close is to step up to a deluxe resort such as BW or BC which will put you in walking distance of Epcot and MGM or the Contemporary, GF or Poly where you will be a short monorail ride or walk to MK.
But with the deluxe resorts at nearly 2 to 3 times the price of a value I would much rather save the money and stay at POP.

Instead of paying for moderate, definatly go pop-- and just spend the money saved on renting a car -- you don't pay parking anyways and you will NEVER have to wait for a bus. Come and go as you please. You can also store sweaters -- souviners and whatnots throughout the day.

Great choice with Pop. We usually stay at AS Music, but we stayed at Pop this past May, and we loved it. For us, it seemed that we were close to just about every park. I don't think we were on a bus more than 15-20 minutes at max. Also, the wait for the buses was not to bad (also think the longest we waited for a bus was 20 minutes at the resort, except for at DTD where we waited 40 minutes on one evening, which almost NEVER happens and it didn't happen again after that). Plus Pop has their own bus, which is great. Also the food court at Pop is AWESOME. There are many different selections, and the theming and atmosphere were great. We stayed at the 80's building and our room faced the lake, which was awesome. Hope all this helps. Have fun!

I'd say Pop is a home-run for all your concerns. The themeing is also pretty cool particularly if you've never seen it.

My son won't let us stay there this year because he's convinced the Pizza is better at All-Star sports.:lookaroun

We stayed at Pop and POR and All Star Sports and Actually the best buses were at Sports .I think any of the value are ok But dont forget POp is newer so the buses are further away for instance at Magic Kingdom last ones.
