3 Days Or 3 Weeks?

Good Morning Disneyaerians. Now Ive read on these forums that some people visit WDW on a three day vacation and I suppose if I stayed in close proximity I would do this also. But our missing AWOL member Crush Dude went to OKW for 23 days,if memory serves me right.Last year we were considering three weeks, but in the end opted for just the two,and to be truthfully honest, after 14 days & nights,we were ready for going home.Done this, done that, ate this, drank that.Got the T-Shirt to prove it.Yes It sad to be leaving but we couldn't complain.Out of our 5 Disney trips,I would rate it as our favourite. So now to my question. If you could pick a length of trip, staying onsite, what would it be? Now this is your annual vacation,so is three days too short and three weeks too long.?:)

A typical trip for me is usually around 5 nights. Last year we Did seven nights and that was great. Personally I would love to be able to do 10 days every trip but as a DVC Member I just dont have the points for that.

I dont think i could do anymore than 10 days in Disney World. Its not that I would get bored per say but I would like to do longer trips on a Island or Cruise or Trip to Europe.

I'd love to go for 10 to 14 days. We're planning 8 for our next trip with potentially 2 of those at US and it just doesn't seem like enough WDW time, but it makes sense since DH wants 2 days at US.

5-6 days in WDW is enough for me. I'm able to see and do just about everything I want in that amount of time, with a little something left over for the next trip. I've spent 2 weeks in the UK twice, and 1 3-week stay in N. Ireland courtesy of that silly volcano, and I was more than ready to come home to sleep in my own bed. Now, if I had to travel like our friends from across the way, I can see staying 2-3 weeks at a time, split up between WDW and other attractions.

I've asked myself this same question...What is the best length for a WDW vacation? I've never had the ability or funds to stay for 3 weeks but I have stayed for 3 nights and I find it just way too short of a trip. For me, I think that 5 nights is the perfect length. I find that after 7 nights, I am starting to miss home a little bit and am more ready to leave. crazy, I know! If it wasn't for my friends, family and dog at home, I would love to stay longer.

First off, i am super jealous of anyone that gets 3 weeks vacation! We like to do the 5 day 6 night thing, usually Sunday thru Thursday as the rates are cheaper that way. Although for my bachelor party/honeymoon i am going to be there for 12 days and can't wait to do that, it will be nice to just take our sweet time and enjoy everything. The shorter trips tend to be pretty intense, I loved leap day last year, but we went for four days including the 24 hours and I was totally beat.

Somewhere between 5-7 days is ideal for us for WDW. DH and I decided long ago that anything to anywhere for more than a week and a half is just way too long for us...regardless of the destination. We once took a 3 week vacay and we both had that "when is it going to end!?!?!?!" feeling while we still had over a week to go. I think some of this is that we also like to break up the year a bit with some smaller trips. i.e. I'd rather have 2 small and 1 medium vacay throughout the course of the year than one big trip.

We have done about four 10 days trips a while back and while it was nice, to be honest, I am always ready to come home after 5-6 days. We were never able to just relax and take it easy when our kids were young. We now go for 5-6 maybe 7 days and are able to take it slow and easy. We are leaving in March for 7 days and I plan to move at a snail's pace and drink lots

Edited to add and say that my kids are old enough now that they can go around the parks on their own and don't need to hold mommy's hand.

We usually go for a week, and I sometimes wish I'd have more time to enjoy the little things there are to offer. I'd like to go for two weeks, but three weeks may be too much. I guess of the two choices I'd say three weeks. 3 days is like nothing when you live far away.

Interesting views here.I think it also depends how far you stay from WDW.In other words if you've got to travel 9 hours on a plane just to get to Florida, then 7 days is way too short. However if your car journey is between 5 to 7 hours drive then a 5 or 7 day break is fine.

We normally go for 14 nights on-site, but next year we are making changes, we have now got DVC and we have points that cover 14 nights Oct time at BWV, but we are coming for 20 nights (21 including internal UK flights) which are a night at Port Canaveral 4 nights on the Dream (1st time) 3 nights at HRH Universal and 12 nights BWV villas including DS 9th birthday), we have gone for 1 bedroom because of the washer & dryer in the room! So we don't have to pack to many clothes and leaves more room for shopping, I know all resorts have washers but I don't like spending an afternoon washing, I will be on holiday!!! We would have gone for 14 nights at WDW, but we are already taking DS out of school for a week, we didn't want to push it!!!
We have already decided if our numbers come up its Golden Oaks here we come!! TTFN Jo

I could find enough things to pack in on a three week stay. With that length of time to vacation, I would be sure to venture off Disney property to take in some of the other Orlando entertainment choices and area dinner shows. Three days would definitely be TOO short. It would feel like I had just stepped off the plane and have to step right back on. I'm not sure it would be worth going. I doubt you could ever be able to fit enough in to make it feel like you accomplished anything.
