If Easter bookends the week you are talking about (Easter is April 5 this year) the parks will be VERY crowded, just as crazy as you have heard.

Other early weeks in April are also busy due to various spring breaks. But the weeks before/after Easter are the worst.

I've gone for my bday (April 10) and it's not too bad. Some years have been pretty busy, some not. Hot and miss with that time frame
