25th Anniversary

We are staying at the Grand Floridian for the first time for our 25th anniversary. Any suggestions to make this trip special? We have booked Citrico's for dinner. I would like to have a professional photo taken of us at the wedding pavillion but I haven't found out any info on that yet. I am so excited about staying at the GF! We have booked only a garden view, think I could ask for an upgrade? I don't know if that's really proper. I would love a lagoon view. Any suggestions?:)

Welcome to the 25 year club! :sohappy:

Definitely mention your anniversary when you check in! I know they will do something special for you....maybe even an upgrade if the hotel isn't full! They sent champagne to my parents at the Contempory on their 50th....I suspect they might do the same for a 25th. (however, I wouldn't COUNT on it, or the room upgrade, or even expect it, but if you don't say ANYTHING, you'll be 100% certain not to get it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!)

Lucky you! The GF is a great choice for your 25th because, well its just GRAND!
We were there for just one evening last summer and were knocked out by its style, especially at night. We took a stroll down the beach to the Polynesian, passing the wedding pavillion. Very romantic choice for a photo.
Now lets see, just 5 years to our 25th......

I was gonna say the same thing!! lol

I had my parents stay at the Grand Floridian last year... and with some connections, they got upgraded to a Lagoon view... it was an absolutly GORGEOUS room... with a view of the castle... definetly go for it, if you can. (However, be advised... once you stay at the Grand Floridian... you become spoiled... and won't want to stay anywhere else... lol)

As for restaurants, I would also highly reccommend getting reservations for Victoria & Albert's... It books up quickly, so do so quickly... (407-WDW-DINE)... Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it is totally worth it...

Happy Anniversary, and enjoy your magical vacation! :)

Thanks for the well wishes. Gee Victoria & Albert's sure gets high ratings. I don't know though. I saw it featured on the travel channel. The meal is really gourmet. My hubby likes to eat, he's one of those people who is looking at everyone else's food trying to see what it looks like. He usually dislikes fancy food because the portions are small, he's always looking for the rest of the food! I have decided against Citrico's and booked Narcosee's instead, also the Yachtmen's Steakhouse.

The photo is up in the air, called WDW, the girl wasn't very disney like, I know you have that sometimes, but the only way you can do it is a 1 hr package photo shoot that costs $275! Discount with club card for a total of $247.50. All I really wanted was one picture. I'll have to talk it over with hubby when he gets home (he's away working right now).
