It's kind of an interesting dynamic with this. runDisney years ago was used to bring in the people to the resort during slower times. Now that's not needed as much. I thought we might see the end post covid but they came back. It does bring a lot of people and money to the resorts tho. runDisney registration fees aren't really big revenue makers either. A lot of that fee goes into just putting on the event. Paying for medical, paying for employees now that they no longer use volunteers, paying for bus, port-a-john and tent rentals.

They’re still bringing in a hefty amount of money. But from speaking to someone who’s close to high ups at RD, their strained on what they can do because Disney World officials hate RD.

I certainly don't doubt that. I have seen the ebs and flows of the events after 80+ of them.

This was originally promoted as something to visit for regular WDW guests as part of their trip -- I remember going not too long after it opened (I think within the first year or two).

Admission was included in some ticket packages (that's why we went) and they had some random sports related activities to do. I've never been back; I assume that stuff is gone now since it's essentially just a site for hosting events and not something pushed towards average guests.

Yeah there is nothing for a guest to do unless going for an event.
