Spring Break and MK wait times are manageable compared to the rest... almost like all they need to do is build rides at the other 3 WDW parks to alleviate some of the capacity issues.

MK has more than 2.3x the hourly ride capacity than DHS
1.6x more than Epcot (and this includes stuff like Awesome Planet)
2.8x Animal Kingdom

You don't need to build dozens of rides, but just enough high-capacity attractions to alleviate some of the E-tickets.
That’s a shame about EPCOT. An entire park that used to be nothing but dark Omnimover rides that lasted 15 minutes and had a capacity of up to 3,000 guests per hour.

There is probably enough infra at the other 3 parks to build in capacity that would get their hourly capacity up to where MK is today. On the other hand, a bunch of money has been spent the last few years on road improvements and parking expansion around MK. If that $17B figure is meant to be capital investment, I imagine a plurality of it is going to MK.

The full investor call. Wow was that brutal. People were openly roasting Iger and TWDC for all to hear including their involvement in politics, affiliations with communist China, lack of quality, etc. I'm surprised this isn't all over the news.

Good…no sympathy from me…it’s about time they get called out for China…

The Disney difference would be the over-the-top theming. In my opinion It could work. Besides, it's my dream, I know it would never happen.
Hey, there’s no problem with dreaming…but all jokes and kidding aside, they can’t staff the parks they have, and you want another park? Maybe it could be run by AI…or the first self service park…I do like the villains, just not the coasters.

Why are you in denial and pretending as if that call wasn't indicative of a more serious situation? You should review recent articles about the company and you will see a pattern of shareholder and consumer dissatisfaction. Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Disney, and Parks are extremely distasted by everyone and it was vocalized. It's ok, Iger can have a bad call, it isn't the end of the world; though it was inevitable. But nothing is good in this company we all support. Each subsidiary's potential is losing momentum because of their cousin subsidiary failing because Iger is trying to please a small majority of people to send a certain message for whatever the hell reason that is unbeknownst to me; it seems super anti-Disney, in my opinion. It's causing them to rob Peter to pay Paul and that's why you have things like this major EPCOT reimagining getting stunted early. The creativity of this company is stunted and it's ruining their reputation.
Cool story.

Of course, they don't have the staff for fifth gate I was just dreaming since someone posted about a fifth gate and I LIKE coasters.

I know we are dreaming, but a park run by AI would be a ........ nightmare.

A self-service park is interesting. they would still need some very small number of cast members and security.

How would a self service theme/amusement park work and operate?

We joke about a 5th gate knowing it's not happening.

But the dumber parts of the internet are echo-chambering that Iger hinted that a 5th Gate was indeed coming when he announced $17B will be invested in WDW over 10 years.

🙄
I don’t really blame them. I agree that a 5th gate isn’t happening, but with the RCID land agreement allowing for a new major theme park and then the new statement about spending $17 billion, I’m not surprised that’s what people are holding on to as “evidence”.

I have no idea…I was just answering the other post asking for a fifth gate. I said Disney doesn’t have the adequate manpower for the 4 they have…maybe run it as a self service park…it was a sarcastic comment

5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
Agreed. If MK could fit more guests without being unpleasant, I presume they have data suggesting more people would come. And they are likely to visit at least one other park at WDW while they’re in town. It’s worth their while if they want to expand the customer base.
Which is why they need a third castle park in the US more than a 5th gate at WDW.

That’s how a lot of investor meetings go at a lot of companies. Not really anything newsworthy about people complaining about a CEO, China, or DEI initiatives at an investor meeting for a well known company as it would be more surprising if it didn’t happen.

The Magic Kingdom is the most popular tourist destination in the world but I'm pretty sure Disneyland beats it on attraction density. Disney does not build castle parks like they used to so that is why people are resistant to the idea that MK should probably get outsized capital investment compared to the other 3 Orlando parks.
Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland alone is pathetic compared to Disneyland’s…
