2020 Grad Nites Now Cancelled - Tradition Since 1961

Students during my year got into parked trams and slept. It was obvious the ones who got in and stayed awake thought CMs were going to come and start the trams up to take everyone back to the parking lot. As exhausted as I was, I enjoyed watching students sluggishly get out of the trams and walked all the way back to Mickey and Friends like the rest of us.

My high school, though in So Cal, does their grad night on a yacht they rent for an evening. This posh event has limited capacity so not every senior can actually attend, costs more than grad nite at Six Flags or Disneyland, and is geared towards the wealthier half of the community that attends the school. From what I remember, the expensive grad nite that couldn't even accommodate the entire graduating class was somewhat controversial among students and parents.

I didn't go, I elected to attend Disneyland with some friends that same night as we were all AP holders and decided a day at the park would be far better than an overpriced evening on a yacht.

What a douchey move. Grad night for the rich kids. I think there's a John Hughes comedy in there somewhere.

Elementary and Jr high schools around here go to Knotts for Grad Day. They go in groups and are escorted by teachers and parents.

I went to Grad Nite '84 at Magic Kingdom! I knew they had discontinued Grad Nites at MK but didn't realize they were still happening at DL!

Yup. Grad Nite is still hugely popular at Disneyland, with 16 different nights from May 8th to June 13th planned for the 2020 season. Until they were cancelled.

Or whoever's parents are chill about celebrating graduation, in my case 🤣
No thanks.
