You mean the first of the discounted packages?

I'm not sure. Here is what he said: "The 2019 Walt Disney Travel Company vacation packages for Walt Disney World Resort will be available to book beginning June 19, 2018. These packages will be valid for arrivals Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2019."

The ability to book room only and packages for 2019 online and via phone with the newly set 2019 rates.

They only allow 499 days in advance, so on June 19, you will only be able to book through 10/31. i.e. "Please note the last date of your vacation cannot be booked more than 499 days in the future."

Will it be cheaper to book now, rather than wait for the 19th? Or does it not make a difference? Also, did they stop with the free Travel Planning DVDs?

Price will be the same, I assume. Travel DVD's aren't a thing any more sadly. Just an online video you can watch.

Just to clarify- you can not book a package for 2019 until the 2019 rates are released. However, you can book a room only reservation for 2019 (max 499 days out) at 2018 prices for the same dates. The price you book at, and make a one night deposit on, is your guaranteed rate. This rate stands as long as you make no changes to the reservation. Later, if you change your dates, change your resort or room view, or try to apply any discount, or make any other change, your base rate updates to the newly published 2019 rates.

Incorrect. If you call and book a 2019 room only before tomorrow, that rate is not guaranteed, otherwise everyone would be locking in room rates before tomorrow.

I have three confirmation emails for stays in 2019 that clearly state my rate is guaranteed as long as I make no changes to the reservation.

The thing is, I, like pretty much everyone else, will make changes at some point because I'll apply a discount or promotion, once those are released. The only real advantage to booking early is that I have secured the room(s) that I want.

I'm basing my statement on 14 years of booking travel agency clients with Disney. Usually that rate you've booked at for 2019 is a not a similar season rate from 2018.

It doesn't matter though, because as you said, no one leaves a reservation completely untouched.
