"So obviously there are more IPs to work with in the future which we don't know of right now. Which is why we have the Movies thread. ANYONE can post an idea for a movie (short description of characters and plot) in this thread and then use it to design rides, lands, etc. The catch is anyone can use a movie idea that is posted here."

You can create movies based on any IP that Disney owns NOW. (So no Dreamworks movies, or Lego Movie 2.) You can use Disney Animation, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, etc. IPs, or you can create original stories.

Any movie that has been announced, but not finished, can still be posted here. And you can decide the ending. (Imagine writing Episode VII)

I have a surprise announcement planned for Thanksgiving day so be ready. ​

I'll take the plunge here and start it off.
Kaguya
Loosely based off the Japanese legend The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, Kaguya is an enchanting fable about the princess of the sun and her return home after falling to Earth and being found trapped in a bamboo stalk. Using computer animation modeled on traditional Japanese art, Kaguya's journey is one where she finds courage and light even in the darkest as she attempts to return home to her mother, the goddess Ameratsu.
Characters
Kaguya: The title character. To become a member of the Disney Princess franchise. A shy, fearful young princess who nonetheless takes her journey to return home.
Taketori: A handsome, young bamboo cutter who frees Kaguya from the bamboo stalk she is trapped in and assists her on her journey.
The Emperor: The Emperor of Japan who assists the princess and treats her as a sister.
Chuchu: Kaguya's pet Sable. An amusingly imperialistic character. A comic relief character (Nonvocal)
Lolli: Kaguya's pet Serow. A weakling and coward. A comic relief character. (Nonvocal)
Amaratsu: Kaguya's mother. The goddess of the sun who is unable to bring her daughter back to her.
Mamushi: An evil snake spirit. One of the antagonists.
Obake: The spirit of a cruel and despicable former emperor who wishes to possess the current emperor. One of the antagonists.
Oni: The main antagonist. A demon who will stop at nothing to keep Kaguya from returning home.

Toy Story 8!
This new film follows Woody and friends' new owner, John (after he was given them by Bonnie in a toy drive, in the beautifully touching charity scene of Toy Story 6), as they help him to get over the loss of his beloved father. We see a child-toy connection for the first time in a Toy Story movie.

Mysteries of Giza
Follow the quests of Tabitha and Nadir, two Egyptian commoners, as they stumble upon an entrance into the mysterious world of Egyptian gods. Watch as they attempt to remain unseen, and defeat Montu, God of war, who plans to destroy their town, so that a testament to him can be made. They must befriend Ra, God of the sun, to aid them in saving themselves, and their village.

THE VORTEX
Join Princess Amelia as she steals a spaceship from her oppressive father (who is king of their planet), King Garon, and journeys around the galaxy. Along the way, she'll meet the criminal Walter, who has secret ambitions to sell her out and return her to her father. But the two fall in love (of course) and get married, while her father tries to hunt them down.

Basic Plot
-Amelia flees her planet
-She flys far away, but is forced to land on abandoned space station to get fuel.
-She meets Walter, who saves her from security robots, and gets her fuel and tells her to get out of his home.
-As she prepares to fly away, Walter gets a memo about her father's rewards for her capture, and he decides to help Amelia.
-Walter takes Amelia with him on his ship where his two lovable robots are introduced, F0N and L0V3.
-He shows her the galaxy and beautiful sights such as the creation of a star., while he arranges a meeting place with her father.
-King Garon tracks them down just as Walter starts to fall in love with Amelia. Amelia boards an escape pod and starts to escape, hurt by his betrayal.
-Walter sacrifices himself and his ship to allow Amelia to escape.
-Walter is imprisoned and has to teach a guard (ROB) the meaning of love. The guard proceeds to help him escape, and reunite him with his robots.
-Walter learns that Amelia is planning to kill herself by driving into a black hole. He and the guard follow her to this site.
-Walter drives closer to the black hole than anyone known to save Amelia, and succeeds.
-But King Garon tracks him down. The trio are forced to drive into the black hole to evade doom, where they arrive in an alternate dimension, where King Garon doesn't exist. (Amelia does not have a duplicate in this dimension)
-Walter and Amelia get married and live happily ever after.

END CREDIT SCENE
-Garon discovers ROB's tracker is still working and sees where he is. But it is the equivalent location in the original dimension . "I get it now. Order a fleet back to the black hole!"

Knights of the Old Republic: A Star Wars Story

Continuing with the Anthology Star Wars Series will be a film based off the popular Star Wars video game and expanded universe book series. The story will be follow Carth Onasi and Bastilla Shan as they save a fallen "soldier" from the evil fleet of Darth Malak and the Star Forge - a powerful armanda of ships capable of destroying any opposition. Darth Malak was the apprentice to the Sith Lord Darth Revan who had fallen before the film began.

The fallen soldier - whose memory has been tampered with - soon finds out he is a larger part of the narrative than originally intended. They travel to Dantooine where he learns of his Jedi powers and develops back to form as the story progresses. In a confrontation with Darth Malak - Malak reveals that the soldier is indeed Darth Revan - whose memory was erased - and the soldier is left with a choice - to re-join the dark side or continue down the light path. Darth Revan turns to the light and helps defeat Malak and the Star Forge for good.

Re telling of The Fool and the Flying Ship - a Russian Fairytale

This story has been adapted before, however, Disney is becoming famous for providing twists on classic stories. Utilizing computer generated graphics made famous by Pixar, this movie would not only show the fool and his friends completing each impossible task set by the Tsar, but also how the princess hides herself on the Flying Ship to partake in the adventures herself. In the end, instead of getting married as the Tsar decreed, the princess chooses instead not to marry the fool, but join his crew to see the world and obtain the freedom she never had.

This movie would not only expand the princess line up, but also add in some Russian culture which is largely absent from Disney. Also important would be the emphasis of how both the princess and the fool are not great warriors (as has become prominent for both hero and heroine of late) but for being good people and showing kindness to others. As the adventure continues, both the fool and the princess discover their own talents that help their friends.

As of of December 16th, 2026 Disney has finished negotiating a deal with 20th Century Fox in order to give them rights to all of the characters that 20th Century Fox owned to be added in the MCU.

Deadpool, X-Men, they're all fair game now.

Rise

The story of a young peasant, Amelia, as she meets her prince (John) in the forest. After years of meeting, they fall in love, and he presents her to his mother to be his bride. She denies him, saying she isn't a proper princess. He says she is and tells her she can pass any test, so the mother makes the test that she should be able to feel a pea through 100 mattresses. She at first cant feel it, until John replaces the pea with a magical gem that makes it rigid. She passes the test and barely sleeps, but the mother finds the Jewel and banishes Amelia. John goes on a quest after her, but his mother tries to stop him. He makes her realize that his love is most important and lets him find her.

Completing the finding nemo trilogy, this prequel shows the story of Marlin and Coral before nemo. Marlin was always the Odd- fish-out until he met Coral. They went to college together, and eventually got married. They moved all around the world until making the tough decision to have kids. Coral nearly died while laying eggs, until she is saved by a miracle. The final scene of Finding Coral is the same opening scene from finding Nemo.

A cinematic universe based around Disney Theme Parks attractions that culminates in a SEA crossover

Phase 1

Figment (Spring 2025)
Journey Into Imagination made into a live action-animated hybrid film. An adaptation of the Marvel Kingdoms book and the launch of the Disney Kingdoms cinematic universe.

Pirates of the Caribbean (Summer 2025)
A reboot of the Pirates series, now centered around the village that the pirates ransack rather than the pirates themselves. Shows the very early origins of SEA.

Mystic (Christmas 2025)
An introduction to Lord Henry Mystic and Albert as they go on an adventure to find an enchanted music box. Post credits scene features a cameo by Dreamfinder.

Hightower (Fall 2026)
The introduction of Harrison Hightower as he voyages in his original pursuit of knowledge and treasure to share and begins down his dark path. Post credits sequence features a minor introduction of Mary Oceaneer.

Oceaneer (Winter 2026)
The introduction of Mary Oceaneer and Polly on a worldwide quest to find the mysterious Institute. Leads directly into The Society of Explorers and Adventurers

The Society of Explorers and Adventurers (Summer 2027)
The end of Phase 1 of Disney Kingdoms. The combining of Dreamfinder, Figment, Henry Mystic, Albert, Harrison Hightower, Mary Oceaneer, and Polly into one team as they battle the undead horde of Pirates that once plagued the original members of The Society of Explorers and Adventurers and sets up the next phase.

Phase 2
Figment: One Little Spark (Winter 2027)
A direct follow up to the first SEA movie, depicts Dreamfinder beginning to loose his imagination after the devastating losses of the Institute and his inventions.

Mystic: The Enchanted Isle (Spring 2028)
Depicts Henry and Albert on another adventure, now teaming up with his niece Sofia, to find an Enchanted Isle where birds sing and flowers croon. (Adapts concepts from The Enchanted Tiki Room)

Chandler & Bullion (Summer 2028)
An adaptation of the Big Thunder Mountain comic. The post-credits sequence depicts Hightower, Mystic, and Oceaneer inviting Jason Chandler, Barnabas Bullion, and Abigail Bullion into SEA.

Falls (Winter 2028)
The introduction of Alberta Falls as owner of the Jungle Navigation Exploration Company. The post credits sequence depicts Dreamfinder inviting her into SEA.

Oceaneer: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (Winter 2029)
Depicts Mary and Sally's voyage to Tibet and their climb up the Forbidden Mountain and fearful encounter with the Yeti. Introduces new character Mao-Ni Tsun into SEA.

The Society of Explorers and Adventurers: The Lost Library (Summer 2029)
The reunion of Dreamfinder, Mystic, and Oceaneer as they train new recruits Sofia, Jason, Abigail, Alberta, and Mao-Ni through an adventure to find a library with the most powerful knowledge reserves known to mankind and stop the villains who wish to find it first.

Hightower: The Dark Path (Fall 2029)
Depicts Hightower's first full out pillaging and his walk to villainy, with the help of Bullion, being completed and sets them up as the villain of the next phase. Happens concurrently with The Lost Library.

Phase 3

Chandler & Bullion: Western River Expedition (Summer 2030)
A quest through the Colorado River featuring Jason and Abigail on a hunt for lost gold. Depicts their discovery of Bullion being a traitor to SEA.

Figment: The Story of Inspiration (Winter 2031)
A time twisting journey through parallel universes and alternate times as Dreamfinder and Figment attempt to stop a villain from changing time to prevent SEA forming.

Mystic & Oceaneer: The Roaring Mountain (Summer 2031)
The team up of Henry and Mary as they discover a lost civilization and the monster Q'arac who lives inside Roaring Mountain, the civilization's most honored peak.
(uses elements from Shanghai's Roaring Mountain)

The Society of Explorers and Adventurers: Magic Kingdom (Winter 2031)
Depicts SEA's discovery of a lost kingdom where fairytales live and their fight against Bullion, who wishes to sell the land as a tourist attraction and disturb the peaceful kingdom with the shock of reality.

Hightower: Tower of Terror (Spring 2032)
Depicts Hightower's last days as he plunders the idol Shuriki Utundu, celebrates his victory on New Years Eve, a then suffers the curse as punishment and dies as a result

The Society of Explorers and Adventurers: The Haunted Mansion (Summer 2032)
Depicts SEA's reaction to Hightower's death and his final revenge, trapping the members in his mansion now infested with horrifying ghosts and ghouls. Kills off Jason Chandler and Barnabas Bullion and sets up Phase 4.

This animated Arthurian fantasy follows the origins of the Lorelei, Lady of the Lake, how she obtained Excalibur, and how she became Lady of the Lake. Music by Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken

The Confessions of Dorian Gray
This live action drama-horror franchise depicts the story of Dorian Gray, the man who never aged, and his adventures through centuries of life from his original meeting of Oscar Wilde to his eventual death in the late 21st Century. Based on the popular series originally produced by Big Finish Productions (I am garbage and name dropping this amazing series seriously look it up)

The Magic Flute
An adaptation of Mozart's opera. This film depicts the quest of Prince Tamino, saved by the Queen of the Night and tasked to rescue her daughter Pamina from the evil sorcerer Sarastro. Introduces Tamino into the Heroes franchise and Pamina into the Princess franchise. Features music by Mozart and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Eternally Your's
An all new animated story, this film follows the story of Lydia Argal mourning and healing from the loss of her soldier husband over the course of years. An examination of grief through the eyes of a young 20-something woman. Music by Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda

The Story of Time
Based on Hufflepuff's Discoveryland redo challenge from The House Cup, The Story of Time is an animated feature film about the physical embodiment of time repairing timelines damaged by a villainous time traveler.

Tron: Reawakening (2025)

This new fantasy takes places as Joseph, a young astronomer, looks to the sky, until one day he notices a different constellation. The consultation appears to be a magnificent woman, who he can not help but be attracted to. One day, he notices as stars begin moving at an odd pace, forming this woman once more. The stars move as she beckons him towards her. She put reaches her had as a single pinpoint of light rests in front of Joseph. He grabs the light is is taken to the sky realm where the sky is dark blue. She warns him of an evil force trying to tear her the sky realm apart. He attempts to help and fight, but when Celestia (the woman) sees him injured, she must return him the mortal realm. We watch alongside Joseph as a duel occurs in the constellations. He sees Celestia injured as pinpoints of light float toward him. He zaps into the sky realm to save her in an epic duel.
