2015: The year of the EPCOT makeover?

I agree that Epcot is long overdue for some love. Future World in particular is in desperate need of some plussing. I would love to see UOE get an update. And for Odyssey to reopen.

As for the refurbishment/ update of Imagination...I'll believe it when I see it. There have been so many predicted 'updates' for the ride over the years and none have panned out.

I would wager it will work like this.

Avatar Land - Ready early 2016

Lucus Land /Hollywood make over Ready Early 2017 (I doubt they will have to make much and it will be building re-themes.

Epcot make over - Late 2017/2018.

Some things will be ready before others but I will think it will work out just like fantasy land. Hollywood studios and epcot would require the least time since most of the building work will already be there and the rides will be re-themed to fit into it . I would hope Hollywood studios itself gets a little bump in land size but I'm sure indy will come right down and they will be able to put up 2 rides quickly in that space one of them might be the indy ride from the west coast and a cantina wouldn't take to long to go up next to star tours.

Add two or three years to every date you have there and thats a better starting point. I'd agree most of this will happen but its will be the better part of 10 years before its all complete.

I dunno Master Gracey 5. I don't think lucas land will be massive. I think they will take down that eatery next to star tours and make it into a cantina . I think they will knock down indy and make it a ride. They will most likely also take over the building that was American idol and put in a ride there. Maybe we will see it take over Sci fi dinner and that other eatery there.

I don't see them needing more than 2-3 years for this.

With epcot I don't think they will build much new. They have a basicly empty pavilion which i'm sure they can deck out with marvel stuff. Maybe remove figment and captian eo and put in two marvel rides there also. That would breath a bunch of new life into the park and could be done in another 2-3 years

As far as I can tell, Odyssey isn't quite large enough for what TDO wants the Festival Center to be. It seems to me that the Millennium Village building would be suitable for such a venue as not only is it large, and able to house all of their guest speakers, merch, and food, its centrally located to all of the F&W happenings, and most of the F&G happenings (and after all it was kind of built for special events). Granted I don't exactly expect TDO to announce anything for WoL anyways, but if they wanted to, I suppose that would be a reasonable relocation of the Festival Center.

They could use the facility located between Canada and the UK where the millennium center was in 2000.

Thought of that but it's nowhere near the main entrance and is already used for other special events. WDW won't give up on the festivals so easily.

If that's the case, then they should call it what it is. Rename it the Festival Pavilion, and completely rehab and re-theme it this way. When you leave an attraction like this in disrepair, with have the rides and restaurants gutted, it looks like an abandoned attraction. The old ride signs just remind people of what it once was. Celebrate what it has become and spend some time to re-theme it....

They call it the "Festival Center" now. Agree that Epcot needs work everywhere (not necessarily turn Maelstrom into Frozen, though).

Have never heard a real rumor that WoL would get any attractions...Frozen is coming and Soarin will get a new video that is probably it unfortunately.

Will 2015 be the year EPCOT gets a makeover?

Confirmed: Frozen coming to Norway
Semi-confirmed: New Soaring film, projector, & theater
Rumored: New Imagination attraction
Rumored: New attraction for WoL pavilion
Rumored: Ratatouille ride for France
Rumored: UoE update

Did I miss anything? This would be in addition to Star Wars Land coming to DHS. What do you think are the chances of all of this or some of this happening?

The only one of those things I could see them turning around in less than 16 months (and thus qualifying for 2015) is putting new projectors in the Soarin' theaters, and thats not going to happen if they are building another. They would wait to have all three ready at once.

They might announce something else besides Frozen (I doubt it) but its not opening in 2015.

Let there be a new film in the Earth pavilion and bring back the live hosts on the boat ride - the recording is not good.
WOL was really good when it had a sponsor - why can't WDW get a new sponsor for it? This has never been explained.
Reopen Odyssey, as a restaurant.
WOE needs a new host/hostess - Ellen has been worn out.
Bring in a couple of NEW countries - the space is there.
Get Donald out of Mexico and return the original film/show.
What ever happened to Walt's ideas for EPCOT and World Showcase?

1. Money
2. Money
3. They should.
4. It needs more than simply a new host.
5. Money
6. Not going to happen.
7. Walt never had any ideas for World Showcase or EPCOT the park. He had ideas for E.P.C.O.T. the city.

I think what @PeterAlt mean't is that within a year we'll some work happening at Epcot. I don't believe anything major will be done within that time. What we do know is TDO wants to fast-pace construction on the Frozen attraction so I'm guessing we'll see that done in time for the 2015 holiday season or early 2016. Besides that, I think the only rumor that holds credible substance is the Ratatouille attraction for France... Because of *cough cough* Tom Fitzgerald.
