How does that work we are Ap holders and dont recall any way for the volunteer program to give us a credit towards AP?

Two ways. Either you upgrade the one day ticket to an AP (which is what we did in 2010 actually) or, you can apply the one day ticket to a renewal. With the new monthly payment plan, if you're a Florida resident, you could use the 1 day ticket as your downpayment (which is a one day ticket's cost) and then just pay the monthly fee.

I would not be opposed to the Give A Day coming back. We liked it and volunteered and were able to upgrade to AP's because of it that year. :D

Got my AP this year for like $250 due to the free ticket. Processed my renewal a few weeks early, applied the free ticket, as well as my DVC discount. Not to shabby of a price.

I also thought Memories was going to last longer, and I'd be a little surprised to see this promotion come back---in many ways it was too successful.

That said, we really enjoyed our volunteer activity. We participated in the "Weed Out" day in our city's parks & rec department. We pulled out a bunch of honeysuckle (an invasive bush), I learned how to identify it in my own yard (and I had a ton!), and we got a nice guided tour of the ecology behind "Black Pond". We had so much fun that we participated again this year just for the heck of it.

Unsurprisingly, there were many fewer people this year than last...
