I like the way you think!! I live for baseball season. Opening Day in my eyes should be a national holiday. I eat, sleep, and breathe the Fightin's from February till October. Always have, always will. I'm pretty sure when I die, my heaven is going to look a lot like Citizen's Bank Park

My team: Phillies baby!!

My picks:
AL East: Sox
AL Central: Twins
AL West: ? Don't know much about this division...Rangers?

NL East: Phils
NL Central: Cards or Reds
NL West: Giants
WC: Cards or Reds...whoever doesn't win the central.

Series: Phils over Sox. Cliff Lee finally gets his ring.

Yes,OPENING DAY has arrived, and I concur it should be a national holiday.

Skeptical but optomistic Mets fan here. All the chips have to fall completely in place for us to have a shot. Beltran, back and healthy. Reyes, healthy and putting up numbers for his new contract. Pitching has to be play better than their past numbers would suggest. Bay, 30 plus HR year.

predictions:

NL:
East: Phillies:mad:
Central: Reds
West: Dodgers
WC: Giants/Cardinals/Mets:rolleyes:

AL:
East: Sox
Central: Twins
West: Rangers
WC: Yankees/Tigers/Rays

WS:
Phillies in 6 over Red Sox

My husband and I are already stressing over the fact that now the Phils and the Flyers will be playing at the same time. We can't watch both at the same time!

Skeptical but optomistic Mets fan here.

My condolences on being a Mets fan. :animwink:

I kid, I kid. Here's to another summer of spirited rivalry!

I love this idea! (Even though you are a hated Philly rival). ;)

I hope it's another good WS this fall, especially since there may be no football due to the possible NFL season lockout. I'd like to see a WS matchup that goes 7 games, but at least 6.

Many of you have probably seen this, but it still gives me goosebumps every time. This is the reaction during the Mets/Phillies game when word spread of Bin Laden's defeat Sunday night.

Sorry I couldn’t see your attached youtube.
I also was watching the game and when they made the announcement noticed ……..

Philadelphia (Flight 93), New York (Twin Towers), 9th inning, score 1 to 1
Gave me a chill!!!!

Hmm, I might have posted the link wrong. Here's a direct link:

Sorry that I didn’t explain. The youtube issue was totally on my side.
I’m old school and still use a dialup service. Downloading videos take
forever... much longer than it took the Giants to beat the Braves and Phillies in last year's playoffs.

My Team: The World Series Champion GIANTS
But I do enjoy Braves Spring Training each March at WDW

As much as the Phillies are our hated rivals, (Braves nation here), their fans certainly put on a great display Sunday. Hats' off to them.

Okay, now back to hating them. We've got a pennant to win.:animwink:

Sure you do....:animwink:

In all seriousness, I'm glad the Braves have been decent the past few years. It's more fun to have some competition in the division. Also, I've been a pretty huge Chipper Jones fan for the past 15 years and pretty much attend almost every Braves game when they come to town. Went to the game last night and I'm not ashamed to stand and clap for him at his first at-bat. Hope to one day attend his and Greg Maddux's HOF inductions in Cooperstown.

We came so close to attending game 4 of the NLDS in Atl last October. It was a close series, but you guys deserved to win. Tim Lincecum had the Braves hitters figured out since game 1. We're going to be hearing of that kid years from now..not surprised if in the same status as Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, etc.
But yeah, congrats to SanFran on a well-deserved Championship last yr.

Chipper is awesome. In his mind, he probably hasn't aged since 1996. Gotta give him credit for such a history of team loyalty.

*Bump*
Love the Yankees, or hate 'em, this is an historic day as Derek Jeter joins the 3,000 hit club. Jeter is one of the few true Yankees, and deserves a hats-off from all baseball fans for this achievement. As much as I despise the Yankees, I have to say congrats to Jeter for this landmark.

On a less-joyous note, a Texas Rangers fan fell to his death when he flipped over the railing of the outfield trying to catch a ball last week. :(
