2007 Video game of the year.

Since 2007 was such a great year for video games I would like to know what every ones “Game of the year” would be. For me it is a hard choice, but in the end I would say that Mass Effect was my game of the year. Followed by a close, and I mean CLOSE 2nd was Bioshock. I love RPGs and the scope of Mass Effect is just awesome. It has so many positives, story, voice acting, soundtrack, tons to explore. It does have a few flaws but none of them really take away from the experience. I normally don’t get that into first person shooters so Bioshock was a big surprise for me. The story was great and the atmosphere was awesome. Its only issue was the length of the game, if it was a bit longer it would have been my game of the year.

Some other notable games:
Assassins creed (360/ps3)
Halo 3 (360)
Mario galaxy (wii)
The orange box (360/pc/ps3)
Call of duty 4 (360/pc/ps3)
Ratchet and clank (ps3)

There are lots more that I didn’t put in, so what do you guys think?

ea skate.............................. but probaly orange box for shear difference value for money and how innotive and such a great game that they all are. eurogamer gave portal number one game of the year. thats fresh! :shrug:

never played crysis, wernt they gonna release it on 360 if not so already. shall i go out and buy assasins creed now?

Tough choice for me... Assassin's Creed and Halo 3 are great... Portal is fun as is Team Fortress 2, COD 4 is fun, but I was slightly underwhelmed, so I'm going with Bioshock.

I wish Bioshock would have been available for the PS3, but reguardless Call of Duty 4 and NHL 08 are head and shoulders above the rest for me. No game completely upgraded itself like EA's NHL game did. It is now a must own for any fan of the game. The upgraded control system is perfect. And CoD4 goes without saying. Easily the best shooter of the year (Again I didn't get to play Bioshock and that seems to be the only one that could compete).

But seriously the best game is coming out sometime this spring, and it's called SOCOM CONFRONTATION..... Liquid Zero - S2 Rec. = 205-10 :cool:

Yea COD4 got a lot of love for goty. As I said Im not big into FPS especially military ones but COD4 is a great game, by far the best in the series for me. I can see why so many love it.

For best all around game: Mass Effect, its the only game I ever played more than once, I didn't finish the second time but I've never started any other game a second time.

For best value while being great: Orange Box, Half Life 2 and it's episodes were great, and portal was just great and unique.

For the game I had a lot of fun with: Skate, I recommend this game to anyone

NHL 08 is the best sports title I have played in a long time. try it if you are even an occasional sports gamer.

GOTY for me is probably COD 4.

The single player is polished and the controls are perfect.

But the multiplayer is the heart of the game. It is perfection. any feature you would want is there from games to challenges, etc.

I'm glad I'm not the only one :sohappy:

I've only followed hockey for about 5 or 6 years and it's still not as big to me as football and basketball, but this game has made me understand the sport a lot more than I used to. This game is a huge jump for hockey games in general. They'll never be the same after this game.

yea Im about 60% my 2nd play through. Gotta get them achievements. :D I dont normally play rpgs a 2nd time through either and I am going to finish it a 2nd time and maybe a 3rd its that good.
