I havn't competed in the contest but plan too years down the line, but from what I hear, not only do you have to come up with a good, practical idea but you MUST present it well. A while back, I knew of a site of a guy who competed and submitted a Monsters Inc. Factory Tour attraction. (its no longer online....imagine that...lol *wink wink*) but his website to present to the contest judges including a beautifully designed website that was themed to the attraction. The site including rough blueprints, a 3D video of the ride, a storyline, the building deminsions, a before & after photos of where the proposed spot would be (in Tomorrowland), great graphics, and audio commentary. We STILL didn't win the contest. (which was a SHOCK to me)
If you plan on competing for 2006, you should have already started and 2007 should be starting now. You want your ideas to be really good and unique too so don't share too many of your ideas here. :\
Good luck to everyone.
UPDATE: The site of the guy with the Monster's Inc. idea is this site:
http://www.distantcreations.com/ . I would also like to point out that he didn't end up making 2nd place in the competition. He had to take his Monster's Inc. part of his site down due to "unforseen popularity". Enjoy.
