Oh just go and pretend I'm there!

It's been so long since I've been to Epcot that I'd go alone! :)
(I don't prefer to, but I would! :animwink: )

Did you try any of it? Was it wonderful?

Why yes, I'm sooo wishing I was there and want to hear every detail! :)

And, you will. I just got home from four days of WDW fun, including a few stops at the F&W. More to come later... for now...

O... K.

So, the F&W Fest is ridiculous. I went with my friends Alexis and Eric and we had so... much... fun. We showed up Friday afternoon and hit a couple of rides in Future World... then, we got restless and made our way to WS where the festivities began.
We hit Mexico first and all got our customary strawberry margaritas and jumped on El Rio del Tiempo.
Incidentally, sipping on a strawberry margarita is the only way to enjoy that ride... the ride is fine on its own, but it's better with the drinks.
Lex grabbed a Quesadilla con pollo y chorizo and said it was very tasty.
After the boat ride, I visited Ireland (because I am part Irish on my Mom's side) and ordered some Bunratty Meade Honey Wine. I've never tried Meade before, and I've always wanted to try it. Like Alexis said, "There's something so "Lord of the rings" about drinking meade. That's so cool."
Moving on, we stopped at China, when Eric decided he wanted some Chicken Sha Cha. Alexis got some Plum wine. I tried some of each and they were both fantastic.
Moving on to Poland... you have to understand, I love Cherry coke. So, I decided the idea of drinking Cherry Wine was pretty appealing. It wasn't as good as the honey wine, but it was pretty good.
Then we hit Spain...
If you haven't seen the new Spain pavilion, I must say, it is quite impressive. If you've never been to Epcot, you might not even realize it's a temporarry pavilion. You'd probably thought it was just smaller than the other countries. Anyway, I got the seared scallops and Lex got some Manzanilla. She's had it before in Spain where she studdied abroad. She said it wasn't as good as it was over there. I wasn't a big fan either, but I can see how someone would drink it. It's not bad, just not for me... kinda bitter.
Anyway, we skipped Germany and Italy because we drink enough beer and eat enough Italian food in our everyday lives. Just kidding. Actually, Eric got the smoked ribs in Germany and I got the Montellori Chianti in Italy. E said the ribs were good and the Chianti was excellent.
Then, we arrived at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine booth. We all got Champagne Pommery Brut Royal with a Rose Tea Biscuit... at least, i think we did... I think that's the one we got.
Anyway, Dive, this is what you've been waiting for... the free beer.
OK, there's something called, "The History of Beer" or something like that next to the American Adventure. It's a 30-min presentation and you get free beer when you go through it. Neither of my friends wanted to do it, so we didn't... but, there's always next week. More on that later.
Anyway, we hit the Morocco & Mediterranean booth where I got some Cassablanca beer from the counter service restaurant there. Lex and I both got some Kir Royale at the wine booth in France while Eric got some Cognac from the Cognac and port booth. I tried his cognac and went to get my own. That was some good stuff.
We moved on until we hit Canada where it was Cheddar Cheese Soup and Ice Wine all around.
somewhere in the middle of all of that... sometime around Spain, I believe, we turned around and headed back to Future World, where we rode SE, UoE and Imagination. We also bummed around the Land for a couple of munites while Lex looked for chocolate covered rie krispie treats... she didn't find any.
We went across the International Gateway and had dinner at Big River Grille & Brewing Works. We walked back just in time to catch Illuminations.
I mean... seriously... what a day. it was amazing. Everyone who can go, should go.

Heh... I know, right?
Actually, the rationaille was that we can drink Sam Adams beer here. We wanted to get stuff we weren't too familiar with. But, yeah, it was a great time. I was in WDW park everyday from Friday to Monday and I hit Epcot, three times. The first time was the most fun.
I'm going back this weekend, I think. My friends who live in Orlando are going and I might meet them there... but, this weekend is Homecomming here at UF and I might just have to stay here... we'll see.

I´m amazed of two things: the amount of things you did -and drank- in so little time, and the fact that you remember them! :animwink:

I would have turned the beer down too. If I had to wait for the presentation, of course! It´s only half a glass, don´t get too excited! I worked there at the booth in front of America Gardens Theater when it was for the Budweiser Beer School, but only once took the seminar and got my diploma! Good 45 minutes! I had a lot of fun working there! :D

Yes, well, we are highly skilled...
Actually, our little trio was pretty lucky. Eric and I are Epcot experts. We've both been there a million times so we knew exactly how to get around the park. Plus, it was Friday and the lines were tiny. We didn't wait at all for any of the rides in Future World (we even got to UoE a few seconds before the preshow started). Plus the lines at the booths were short too. We never would have been able to do what we did on Saturday or Sunday. Myt folks and I were at MGM on Saturday and I forgot it was Soap Weekend... now, that was a scene...
As for rememberring all th stuff, we wisely got a festival guide and marked everything we got. Otherwise, I would have had some, er, difficulties much of anything. Like, I don't exaclty remember what I are at the Big River Grille & Brewing Works. It might have been a burger, but I'm not quite sure. :dazzle:

Nice... yeah, we didn't go. We had other things on our minds... like Ice Wine... :slurp:

Hm... Well, let's see...

One of the things that made me the happiest was how nice everybody was. Almost everytime I or one of my friends got in line, we struck up a conversation with a stranger. Everyone had an opinion on what was good and what wasn't good at ever booth. It was really neat.
And, now I understand what you were saying about Diva-sized portions. My opinion on the sizes kinda changed as the day went on. At first, I figured I wouldn't have top eat dinner anywhere, because I would be full from all the different foods and. But, once I saw the portions, I decied it would be a little pricey to do that and that kind of upset me a bit. Then, I realized tht was perfect because I wouldn't have to eat lunch, but I could eat a good dinner somewhere.
The people working at the booths were very nice, which I would think is kind of difficult to do working at one of those booths all day.
The best part of the whole thing was walking around WS and smelling all the different foods cooking. It was great. It's making me hungry just tinking about it.

I'm so glad you had a good time! :sohappy:

As for the tiny portions, they are absolutely perfect for me ... I really don't eat enough to warrant paying Disney $$ for a meal. And the buffets - forget about it! They sound sooo yummy, but I don't eat $20 worth of anything! F&W is the only time I get to have my own meal! :D

Heh... I've never gone to any of the buffets. The closest I've come to that is family dining in teh Land Grille. I went there with my little cousins once. They were like, 3, 5 and 7. So, when Mickey comes around, I stand up, shake his hand, give him a hug and ask him how he's been. My cousins were awe-struck.
"You know MICKEY?"
"Why yes... yes, I do."

Yeah... by the time we got to Epcot, they had been to all the parks already. They were having the times of their lives, but I felt they needed something to make them feel a bit closer to the whole Disney thing. So, I chummed up to Mickey, kind of making a motion to the kids and Mickey totally got it. I introduced my cousins to Mickey and he was really nice to them. They didn't know what to do with themselves. It was awesome that I could do that for them. I enjoyed it. I did something like that for all the characters at the dinner. I don't know what got into me, but I was all about ammusing them. I think they enjoyed it.

YEah... I'm a big softy once I get in a Disney park. They loved it. I always recommend my friends go to the parks with kids who have never been. If I'm ever lucky enough to get married and have a kid, I can't wait to get the opportunity to take him or her to WDW for the first time.
