Well just because Disney hasn't redone or rereleased this movie young people don't know how great the movie or the ride actually was.. I have talked to survey people at WDW and in the past the number one thing the people want returned is 20,000 leagues. This was a great ride and its a bunch of hooyie for them to say it costs too much to keep up or reinstall. Where's the money Mr. Eisner? Why can't we get this ride back?

The movie was (is) great! The WDW 20K attraction was terrible! It was hot. It was smelly. It took a long time to load. It was boring! Jungle Cruise and Country Bears are better than 20K ever was (and those two are lame as well)!:dazzle:

P.S. Disney rereleased 20K in May, 2003.

P.S.S. Sorry Grizz, but the truth hurts!:p

Jungle Cruise and Country Bears lame?!?

The back side of water? lame ?!? Never!! It looks like water, but it's not.? Lame (ok, I'll give you that one.)

Jungle Cruise is a classic, with the hippos coming up out of the water.

But the Country Bears? They have the song 'Blood on the Saddle." This is fantastic music, especially as performed by Big Al. You don't know how much I hated the Country Bears on Vacation that ran for about 10 years and how happy I was when the original version returned, with my favorite song!!!

I even go to the Country Bears on E-Ride night just to hear Big Al again. And it takes a lot to tear me away from Splash Mountain.

I will also agree that 20K was lame. I liked it because I like nautical things. But you could see you were only 1 foot under water and you could see the lines holding the fish, that IS pretty lame.

Blood On the Saddle

There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

A cowboy lay in it all covered with gore
And he never will ride any broncos no more

Oh, pity the cowboy, all bloody and red
For the bronco fell on him and bashed in his head

There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

I rode 20k when I was a baby so I remember nothing. But the ride is such a waste of space (taking up half of Fantasyland) and it does not fit in with the theme very much...

I want a new Fantasyland like Disneyland got a while back...

I am tired of the castleness and the fairness.... I want 3D sets!!!

HOW many 20K threads are currently running on these boards??!

Maybe that is indeed an indication of its popularity?

i rode the ride when i was like 5 in i think 95' but i may have been 4. but anyway i loved it and i didnt know about 20k the movie. i think they should fix the subs with some air conditioning, new aniamatronics and just make it more accesible. it could still be a great ride

 A lot of rides, like 20K, don't seem to be real popular until they are gone- then people say "oh my gosh that was the best ride ever, how could Disney get rid of it".

If 20K was still operating I bet people would be starting threads about how old and cheesy it is and its such a slow loader and waste of space. Oh well. -Stephanie

Not old or Cheesy...

Listen.. I may be old, but both my girls loved 20,000 leagues. I really resent this type of comment. Remember Disney land had the Natualis as a featured site as well. This was One of the biggest e tickets of all time. It came down to dollars and cents., RIght now Eisner is making too many Dollars and has stopped showing any sense. There was no good reason to end this ride. Period .

I must admit I miss 20K. I use to ride it everytime I visited Disney. I also miss Mr. Toad. They're just classic Disney. I would like to see something new go where 20 K was. It does seem like a waste with it just sitting there. I have always heard rumors that they were going to do some kind of Little Mermaid ride which I think would be fun.

They could have fixed 20,000 League by adding more control of the sub...It should have gone deeper and had the ability to "shake" etc....

1. Country Bears ain't lame!

2. Vacation Hoedown only ran from 1987-1992. (THANK GOODNESS!)

And I think 20K should be very well updated, and perhaps rethemed to add a "WOW!" factor. But please, no meet in greet in any form whatsoever.

Um...did I say YOU personally were old... I said if the ride was still around today, people would probably say it was a slow loader and would want it replaced. I think many people on this board would rather see the attraction gone w/something new there, then for Disney to re-open 20K, or for the attraction to just sit there not working. -Stephanie

Isn`t anyone at TWDC actually EMBARRASSED the lagoon and show building have been on show sitting empty for 9 and a half years?? Having said that, when you look at DLC`s Tomorrowland, I guess they think its `acceptable`....
