Pre-Trip 2 whole weeks at Disney World?? Yes please!! Pre-trip Report

Hey everyone,

So I'm more of a quiet lurker on these boards but I LOVE reading everyone's trip reports and I just hit 100 days til Disney on my countdown so thought I'd celebrate with a pre-trip report of my own!

Okay a bit of background info then,
This is me... Laura. I am British, from Nottingham, England to be precise.

and my mum and Ashley, my brother, will be on holiday with me too.

This will be our 8th trip to Disney World, our last visit was Dec 2012/Jan 2013 which was awesome and I got to cross 'Visit WDW during the holiday season' off my Disney Bucket List! Exciting stuff!
I work in a school so unfortunately I'm limited to school holidays at Easter, July/August, October and Christmas, & we've done Easter lots, Christmas last time and Summer was too hot (I'm a ridiculously pale English rose, me & heat don't do well!) so October it was to be! As amazing as Christmas was I'm kinda looking forward to it being a bit quieter this time.

This will be our 2nd time staying on property & again we will be at POFQ from October 17th-31st. We really liked POFQ last time so stuck with it for this trip too. Staying at a deluxe resort is another thing on my Bucket List so maybe next time!

Because we only get to come every few years or so I am going to make the most of this 2 week visit and I have millions of ideas swimming around in my head...I want to do Halloween themed cupcake crawls, visit resorts, do rides I've never managed to do (Shockingly I've never done Toy Story Mid-way Mania!!) and other bits & bobs. I will share my plans as I make them :)

Lastly for now we also have the DDP, but only QS as it came as part of our holiday. So I dont have any dining reservations (other than an intention to devour the whole Beaches and Cream shop!) However I might still book 1 or 2 sit-down meals. I am a veggie tho, so if anyone has any good restaurant recommendations please share them with me! Thanks :)

2 weeks! NICE! I love POFQ too, it's so charming! I am limited to summer only, because I am a teacher. However, we don't get long holidays in the spring or fall...2 weeks at Christmas and 3 months in the summer! I'm a "spend-Christmas-in-the-snow" kind of girl so summer it is! Looking forward to hearing all about it!

Sounds like a great trip. Now that you are under 100 days your trip will be here before you know it! I will be following along.

Coming a fairly long distance to get to Orlando means we like to make the most of our infrequent visits so 10 days or 2 weeks it has to be! :D wow didn't realise you don't get what we call half term holidays, not sure I'd cope without the breaks!! We finally just broke up for the summer so plenty of time for me to plan now yay!

Now I'm on summer holidays I've got so much free time and will spend a large portion of that reading other peoples trip reports I'm sure! So excited were doing 2 weeks, our last few trips were 10 days long and there was even a 7 day holiday a few years ago...that was a last minute, we're so desperate let's just go-kinda trip!

So the madness of end of term at school is over, I'm on summer holidays and I can finally get back to disney planning! I started making a little book of all our travel info & the scheduled opening times of the parks. I'm just waiting for the 60 day mark to book fastpasses now and I'm still toying with the idea of at least one sit down meal. But no idea which one to go for. Better get studying menus I guess! My mum doesn't know it yet but I've provisionally set our day time plans...I'll lay them out next

Finally 3/4 sorted on our plan of action and this is what we're going to get up to so far...

Friday 17th October: Flying time is around 9 hours & we leave the UK at 11am &we land at MCO at 3pm so our usual routine is dinner at the resort and an early night

Saturday 18th: First day tradition for us is the Magic Kingdom! Normally we would do the whole day but EMH are currently set from 22.00 til midnight so the plan is explore til lunch, go eat at a resort we've not been to , have a wander, then back to MK later on for the evening.

Sunday 19th: Water park day! Off to Typhoon Lagoon. Hoping for decent weather! Then on to DHS afterwards.

Monday 20th: Picking our hire car up this morning then having a non-Disney day. Off to Florida mall etc. shopping.

Tuesday 21st: Epcot.

Wednesday 22nd: Discovery Cove is booked in for today. Haven't done this in about 10years so I wanted to go back. Going to either Epcot or MK for their later hours.

Thursday 23rd: DAK is pencilled in. Probably Epcot for the evening.

Friday 24th: Off to Seaworld today.

Saturday 25th: back to Disney today. Not sure which for the day time but it's MK's EMH til midnight again so MK at night time it is!

Sunday 26th: Off we go to the beach! Hotel booked for the night up by St. Petes

Monday 27th: Beach day part 2, then back to Epcot for the evening.

Tuesday 28th: No plans for today other than it's a Disney day.

Wednesday 29th: Potentially Aquatica (I'm not fussed but we've never been so one to cross off the to do list) then Seaworld again. MK at night, park closing is 22.00

Thursday 30th: car back today. Then on to DHS.

Friday31st: Last day :-( I'm sad just writing that. Boo. MK is by far my favourite park so it's got to be there for my last day. Flight home is 19.30 so it will prob be a 2pm Magical Express pick up.

I've got an ever expanding list of things I'm going to do this year that I've not done before like have a dole whip, see the water pageant, so I'll post that next :-)

Sounds like a more than great trip! And guess what :) We are there from October 17th until 25th! Only difference is we are flying from Amsterdam, land on Sandford and stay off site :) Who knows.. we walk by each other and never know that we are on this forum :)

We arrive from UK on 30th at POFQ, and so looking forward to it. Stayed at CBR/ASM and PORS previously and really love those resorts. Also there for 2 weeks and have always stayed on site for each trip. Visit Sea World/Universal and other places too, but nothing beats good old Disney magic.:joyfull: Looks like a good trip plan too - we've got one set but always allow time for last minute changes. We only have a car for just over half the time - and use DME for transport to & from hotel. Glad to see that you first day in MK - that's our tradition, and this year it will be MNSSHP on our first day! First visit for 4 years and cannot wait. Countdown well underway and meeting for all 7 of us that are traveling together coming up soon to deal with plans of how to get to Airport & back in UK.

Hope you have a really brill trip and do a post Trip Report at a later date.:)
