So, here we are. Just a month out from our longest trip to Disney yet. 12 nights, 13 days. End of July into early August. For those not familiar with our family, we are exhaustive planners (I was going to use extensive, but I feel like I should save that one for later). Lucky for you, intrepid reader (I think I'm safe using intrepid there, I won't need it again) I won't go into full detail here. Suffice to say, we have "if we are picked for FP+" plans and "if it gets too hot" plans and "when the thunderstorms hit" plans and "if any of us get violently ill" plans (see Nov 2010 trip report for that adventure), but I'll just give you the reader's digest version and if you are so inspired, get your feedback for the "revised based on wdwmagic feedback" plans.
This is us from last Thanksgiving in the World:

We are travelling from far northern Maryland, ready for about 15 quality hours in the car (930 miles from our door to the first gate off I4). Our usual plan is to leave mid-afternoon and drive straight through the night to arrive by 7am on our first day. This year, we'll be leaving much earlier in the day and visiting with some old friends in South Carolina on the drive down. They just so happen to own and run a small tavern, so the visit will be extended to allow for a couple drinks. We do enjoy a couple drinks on occasion:

By the way, our DD9 does have a frozen lemonade hidden behind my Guinness. Wish I could say that I had planned that shot, but sometimes luck is with you! (I think that photo warrants tagging of @real mad hatter)
So, this summer's drive, after that stop and a couple rest breaks during the night, will take closer to 24 hours total. Regardless, we will find ourselves pulling up to the Contemporary Resort at by 8am on Sunday, July 21. We are DVC and were planning to spend all of this year's and some of next year's points to stay in Hawai'i this summer, but considering the current cost of air travel and the current pay scale for two teachers, we figured we could pay for everything for 2 weeks at DW for the same price as our airfare to Hawai'i and this is the last year our DD gets by at child prices, so that trip is going to have to wait for at least another year. We are using our DVC points to do 2 nights at BLT, then move to Yacht Club for 3 nights, and end with 7 relaxing nights at our home resort of OKW.
