I never saw the castle cake in person, but I have seen photos and I don't like it at all. What were they thinking!!

Sometimes I think the same thing with the big mirror on the front of the WDW castle. I don't like it. I love the golden charaters, really cute!

I didn't like the stitch one either. I love the castle just the way it is, why do they always have mess with it.

i don't like the big morror thing either, but I don't mind the cake, i understand that a first time guest might not like it that way, but thats tough for them because guess what? disney owns the parks, they can do what they want

Actually, we first went in December of 1996, expecting to see "the castle". To our surprise, it was "the cake". We went back in January of 1998, again expecting to see "the castle"...again (still) it was "the Cake". Only the 1998 "cake" was noticably faded in color. Finally, in December of that year, we finally got to see "the castle". It got switched back sometime between January and December of 1998.

For the record, though I was dissappointed when first seeing cake instead of castle, I have to say that I liked the cake. Parts of it sure looked inflatable to me. Some parts would even move with the wind.

Yes, I too like how the Imagineers spruce the "weenies" in the parks. I even like the Epcot wand.:D

You should run and run fast. Given the usual reaction to the wand,
your bound to be attacked at any instant.

I too saw the castle as a cake for the first time and it was pretty dissapointing. Especially for a twelve year old girl who came all that way to see a castle. The first time I actually saw it as a castle, it was pure magic. It took my breath away.

We were there for our honeymoon in 96- and our official picture is with the Cake castle. Oh how I still remember it- my husband, this was his first trip to DW- thought it was absolutely funny. So whether I like it or not, a big event for me has the cake as a piece of it.
