Trip Report 2 broke guys and the deluxe bday trip!

Yes, yes, I know we just got back. We went in the middle of December, then again for Christmas, then again in the middle of January, and now - our third month in a row…

When: Feb 2-4
Where: All-Star Music, and All-Star Music (you’ll see.)
Who:

And Brian

Wait, wait - that’s not right. Pretty close, but not right. Let’s try again.

And Brian

OK but those were reject “blooper” pics from our last TR. Here’s one where we’re overdressed:

That’ll do.

And…Mickey.

There are two sides to this bar, with a pass-through. One side contains the actual bar and some tables. The other side is just tables.

“Hello from the other siiiiide…”

The drinks were premixed, pretty good, and pretty sweet. Brian attempted a simple Jack and Diet for his second round; and although Jack Daniels was listed as an ingredient in one of the drinks, they were unable to pour anything other than the menu drinks. That’s not great for diabetics.

We ordered the octopus dish (all menu items were small bites) and then ordered the other two just to try them.

Mickey! Those dips came with chips, pita bread, etc. The third item was basically an arepa with chicken. All food was good.

All staff were in character, full of puns, and quite entertaining.

There was a lot of detail. They really got the feel of it right, IMO. Every once in awhile, there was a show element, led by a plush parrot who came out from behind the bar - sing alongs of “Yo ho,” mermaid sightings, etc. However, you couldn’t see it from our side unless you got up and stood in or near the pass-through, which was awkward when a lot of people did it.

It was a good time with a 2 drink max and a 45 minute limit. Our bill was $140. I thought about what I’d gotten for $150 2 nights ago at the CG(!) But again, it was a good time, a new experience, worth it to us.

At the same time, when another opportunity arose the next day, I let it go. Once was enough on this particular trip.

Now…did we miss our opportunity for a 5 minute wait for Tiana? Brian hasn’t seen the refurb yet.

No big tour group of kiddos. ✅

Beautiful morning. ✅

Live music. ✅✅

15 minute wait? I’ll take it!

We did not get the front row, no matter how much certain people around here may or may not have wished we did! 😉

Just a mild sprinkle. Brian enjoyed it, and we both entirely missed the ladies room. 👏🏻👏🏻

After Pirates, it was time for our ADR at Skipper Canteen. It had been for an earlier time, but after getting the Beak & Barrell ADR, they were too close together.

The app wouldn’t let me change it, but the CM outside the venue did. 👏🏻

Remember that fab duck from last time?

I had to go back, Jack, do it again…with a Chakalaka wine.

Brian ordered a tofu dish that used to be good. I warned him that the last time I ordered it, it was meh. He got it anyway. It was meh.

We took a little pool break.

I went to the gym.

We took a little too long to get to our nighttime park…

We did not bother going inside the Tune-In. The line for Runaway Railway was a little long, but I figured when the first showing of Fantasmic started, it would go down.

I was right, but by that time, it didn’t matter. We were too far away and having too much fun at our first ever visit to Oga’s Cantina. (I was at HS at 5am on the day Galaxy’s Edge opened, but we’d never been to Oga’s!)

We loved it! The music, the vibe. I enjoyed 2 x “Jedi Mind Trick” drinks, and Brian had 2 x a beer exclusive to the Cantina.

At some point, we realized the line for M&M’s RR was very short, but we’d rather enjoy a second round.

The original plan had been to go home the next day, and we did have to say our goodbyes to the WL - but we didn’t have to go home! I booked a night using my Marriott Bonvoy app at a hotel described as “less than a mile from the western entrance of the Walt Disney World Resort.”

🙄

So after Fantasmic, we did a little pre-packing, and went to bed.

In the morning, I took my last turn at the gym. (It may sound like I worked out a lot, but these were all “quickies.”)

Felt huge, might delete later.

(Well, my belly felt huge. My big “54” pic at the water park never happened, and I stayed bloated all week.) 🫤

Mickey was ready to go…

IMG_3497.jpeg

So, we left.

IMG_3498.jpeg

Not really. We packed the car, left it at WL, and went to our first park of the day!
