2 BR Beach Villa or 2 rooms at the Poly in July??

Would love to hear your opinion---going with our 2 adult children (20's) and their SO in July for 5days/4 nites. If you had to choose, would you do 2 rooms at the Poly or a 2 BR Villa at the Beach Club.

Besides staying at the Dolphin in 2007, we have never stayed on-site in a Deluxe as a family. My husband and I just fulfilled a dream and stayed at the Poly for 4 nites in October for our 30th ann--- and I loved it. So, I am unsure whether to return or try something new?? And thinking the pool at the Beach Club might be great in July? But we loved the Poly. What a great problem. :)

Thanks for sharing.

The first thing I would do is make sure both of your options are available. July is a popular travel month and BCV has a limited number of 2 bedroom villas.

The villa option would give all couples some privacy while also providing a relaxing environment for family time and hanging out. (It's easier to chill in a room with sofas and chairs!) It also allows for saving money on meals, especially breakfast.

Stormalong Bay is a fabulous pool and having walking access to 2 parks and all the dining options in the Boardwalk area is terrific.

My hubby and I chose Beach Club for our resort-based vacation in July a couple years ago and it was one of our best experiences to date.

And the Poly is hands-down our favorite resort. ;)

Thanks so much for this advice---at this time both options are available---- I so appreciate your feedback--as much as I love the Poly, the beach club just feels right for July---plus the Boardwalk and mini-golf and all the other activities in the Epcot area.
Can I ask you another question?? would you do the BC Villas?? or regular rooms to be closer to Storm-along Bay ??

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Several places where I think a 2 bedroom would work best for 3 couples is Kidani and Bay Lake Tower. Those 2 resorts have 3 full bathrooms in the 2 bedroom villas. No need for 3 hotel rooms. BCV only has 2 full bathrooms in 2 bed villas. Just a suggestion.
And as others noted make sure those choices are even still available especially at Beach Club because that is summer and Beach Club Villas book well in advance for summer especially and there are very few 2 bed villas there. Those usually get booked solid at 11 months out for summer months. :)

Depending on your room location at the Beach Club, you could have just as far (or further) walk to Stormalong Bay as a room in the Villa building. So I would not make your choice based on proximity to Stormalong Bay.

If the other 4 adults are going to share a regular room, that's 4 adults for one bathroom...a 2 bedroom Villa has a second bathroom :). And Villas have the kitchen. ;)

Also be aware that at most DVC resorts, a 2 bedroom consists of a 1-bedroom unit with a connecting Studio, and most Studios are 1 Queen bed and a sleep sofa. Only OKW has two beds in all Studios.

"Dedicated" 2 bedroom units have two beds in the second bedroom, but I think those are limited at BCV.

Not totally correct most 2 bedrooms are not like that at DVC resorts, BUT at BCV yes the majority are (but still have regular 2 bedroom villas too) it is called a 2 BEDROOM LOCK OFF.
If you book a regular 2 BEDROOM VILLA it has dedicated 2 beds in the 2nd bedroom. The only ones that don't are the 2 BEDROOM LOCK OFF VILLAS. You know when you book by which one you choose. Most of the other DVC resorts have plenty of regular 2 bedrooms that are not 2 bedroom lock offs. They just have to pick the correct one when booking. Kidani,BLT, GFV, OKW , BWV, SSR, BCV, etc all offer a regular 2 bed villa choice when booking that has the 2 beds in the second bedroom. ;)

You're right.

I guess I was thinking back to when I was deciding between BCV, Boardwalk and AKL, and I remember learning that Boardwalk and Jambo didn't have any Dedicated. Guess I assumed they were rarer than they actually are...

It is okay I have actually heard that before from others. So you are not alone. Lol. Jambo the DVC area is so small being they converted regular rooms to DVC that they did 2 bedrooms with lock offs so they could use as studios or 1 bedrooms if need be I believe, and same for the others I guess. Gives the DVC rooms more flexibility at those that have them only. I was just wanting to clarify for anyone looking into the 2 bedrooms. It's often eventually asked what the difference is between lock offs and dedicated 2 bedrooms so thought I would fill that in. ;)

Thanks all for your advice---especially about the 'warning' that the 2 BR Villas at the Beach Club may not be available. .....that put a fire in me!

I called to make the reservation and put a deposit --and was told that there was no availability! I said to the cast member, but I just checked on-line and could get the 2 BR BC Villa!--He said, its very popular and sells out quickly!! (sad).

But because I said I could get availability on-line, he checked again, and realized he put in the wrong dates --June instead of July! It is available!! yay--- and I booked it and put down a deposit! (happy).

In that moment when I thought I lost it, I just KNEW this was what I really wanted.

Then in looking at Birnbaum's WDW book, I noticed that in 2016 they voted for the Yacht/Beach Club as best resort on property---- so while I love the Poly, the 2 BR Beach Club Villas feels 'right' for July.

I really do appreciate all of your feedback---- it really helped me.

Thanks again!

You absolutely made the right choice. YC/BC is phenomenal. And wait til you see the renovated villas. I have a feeling that after this vacation you will have a new favorite resort!

I hope that you and your family have the best time!

Odds are a BCV 2 bedroom could be available S/M/T. We were just there for a 2 night stay and had room issues. We arrived on a Saturday from the Poly and to be brief due to the issues they upgraded us from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom but could only do it for Sunday night. We got by with an air mattress and frustration Saturday but moved into our 2 full bedroom room the next day. The manager had said they were full up Saturday but had a lot of 2 bedrooms available on Sunday. For what it is worth it might be helpful. The Poly is my favorite but the BC is my next. Can't beat the pool and the back door entrance to EPCOT.

Granted it's been 15 years, but my wife and I stayed at BC for our honeymoon and it is by far our favorite resort. Walk to EPCOT, monorail to Magic Kingdom, boat to Studios! We only had to take the bus to get to DAK and Downtown Disney! Great spot. You'll definitely enjoy!!!

Thanks for the feedback---do you mean you would walk thru epcot to monorail?? Good idea.

How long does that take??
Thanks again.
