2 at Pop or 1 at Poly

I am going to avoid Mardi Gras this year and was wondering if I should get 2 rooms at Pop Century or 1 Room at Poly? I am traveling with 3 other adults and 1 12 year old. Would love everyone's thoughts.

That's what i am leaning towards but they cannot guarantee adjoining rooms.

Call to make the reservations and they will add it as a note. Call back about a week before your stay and confirm that it is on there and that they are aware of it. Then, one more time, call on the way down there and confirm that they know. Constant reminders seem to help anyone remember anything.

And remember: It's Disney. They aim to please.

I've heard so much about Pop from these boards that I couldn't wait to get there. When we went to visit the place I was soooooooo dissappointed. What a cheesy atmosphere. I've been to the All stars and thought they were adorable but Pop? Wow, I thought it looked awful. I would stay at the Contemporary in a heartbeat. You have two queen size beds and a day bed for the 12 year old. We've had 5 people in one room and never had a problem.

Another option you might want to look at is one of the suites at All star Music. The price is in line with 2 non discounted rooms at pop plus you will get efficiency kitchen with a sink, microwave, fridge and a coffee pot. I stayed there over labor day weekend and was very pleased with them.

I say forget the comfort level of the room...and you'll only be in the room for sleep time (be it yours or your little one's)....

I say go for the access. With such a young child, I assume that you'll have to make mid-day trips back to the room. If you stay at Poly, you have MUCH easier and better access, via monorail, from the MK or EPCOT....plus, I always feel as though the VRs are SO FAR AWAY....

my 2 cents....

You will be more comfortable at pop, but you will fit in to a room at the Polynesian as well. If you are aiming for the comfort level then go with pop, but the Polynesian is a nicer resort with a better experience. You just need to think about what means the most to you.

In cases of needing two rooms, we have often just requested that the rooms be "near each other". They don't have to adjoin or connect.

As it turned out we usually got connecting rooms but as long as they are somewhere near each other you are OK.

Tha'ts works where there are adults in each room.

I would go for the Poly. It depends on who you are going with and how close you all are of course. Just speaking from experiance though, I have shared a room at the poly with 3 adults and a 7 year old, and this year I shared one with 4 adults and an 8 year old. Both trips we wonderful and on both trips we shared the room with no problems. The rooms are really large and spacious and with a patio or balcony to hang out in they are even bigger. The resort is wonderful, and with a young child, being on the Monorail line can be a life saver.

I would go for the Poly.

1. They have queen sized beds, not double. 2. Nicer hotel in a much better location. 3. I am going to guess that if you are even contemplating sharing a room with 3 other adults and a tween that you are comfortable enough to share a bathroom so that should not be a concern.

Have fun!

Thanks for all of the responses. I really don't have a problem sharing the room with who I am traveling with. I really loved the buses at Pop since they arededicated to it. I realize the monorail will take you to the magic kingdom and epco but i don't want to wait for 20 to 30 monutes on a bus to mgm or ak or have to go to two other resorts before the poly. However, I stayed at poly when I was 13 which is 20 years ago and really liked it and would love to stay there again. I figured the repsonses would be about 50/50. I'll do what I normally do and leave it up to my wife.

I have stayed at the Polynesian a number of times and the bus thing isn't an issue. The resorts are smaller than Pop, so the combined amounts are about the same. They are also usually good with dispatching for them if they do get filled at one resort before getting to another.
