Trip Report 1st trip with our 2 year old twins!! Lots of pictures!

Hi Everybody :) This trip was a long time coming. I had planned for it for over a year, and in an instant it was over. There were plenty of ups and downs, but overall, I came out of the vacation thinking it was a success!!
For those who are considering taking their toddlers, I say DO IT! Seeing the world through their eyes was well worth every penny, and we will cherish those memories forever.

The Family:

Me, 32- I am a stay at home mom for our 2 year old twins. I am from San Diego originally, and grew up with Disneyland. We currently live in Tampa, and just got our annual passes!! YAY us! ;) I have been to WDW probably around 20 times now, but this was the first trip with our twins!!

DH, 32- Lets just say he isn't as fanatical about WDW as I am, but he does enjoy it to some extent. Overall, I would have to say that this was probably the most fun he's had at WDW, with the kids being with us. He really enjoyed seeing the kids have so much fun.

The Twins, 2- Landon & Marley: Future, and now current Disney lovers!!! :)

My aunt also joined us from San Diego, which was a big help. It was really nice to have an extra set of eyes and hands! (She stayed at Pop Century)

The trip:

11/1-11/9 at the Art of Animation Lion King Suites! This was our longest trip yet!

DAY 1-

Its about an hour and 15 min drive to the beautiful WDW gates from our house, so we left around noon in hopes that we could check in early!

We arrived at AOA around 1:30pm, and went straight to the online check in line. To our excitement, our suite was ready!!! I was able to ask some last minute questions about our Magicbands and FP+, and figured everything out. :) We were also able to get help bringing all of our luggage to our room, which was a real timesaver!!

Here are some pictures of our room:

I am excited to read your report. We will be taking our 2 and a half year old son next year, and have been kinda nervous on how he will do. And keep the pics the size they are, not too big at all!

DAY 1 (Continued)...

After settling in our room, we decided to set out to enjoy the Splash Pad, and Big Blue Pool I had heard so much about! The kids LOVED the Splash Pad, and the zero entry pool was awesome. I tried going underwater to hear Nemo & his friends, but I didn't hear anything special. Overall, the pool was a big hit!!

After the pool fun, we got ready to meet our aunt for dinner at our food court. It had been a year since we saw her, so the kids had grown so much. They were still crawling and barely pulling themselves up. Now they were running around and talking! :) It was so nice to see her. The Landscape of Flavors food court was somewhat of a let down during our trip, but we made the best of it. I think this was partly because of the new difficulty in getting the kids settled, and finding food that they would actually eat.

My critique of this food court and Disney dining for kids in general is this: PLEASE have more options. The only sides offered for the most part with all kids meals was grapes and apple slices. Our twins are 2 years old. They cant eat grapes safely without me having the cut them up super small, and also have the same problem with the apples. I would like to see them offer things like vegetables, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I ordered them grilled cheese sandwiches one night and what I got was cold goldfish shaped bread with a piece of cold cheese in between. Time to up your game guys!

The best thing that we had at the food court was from the Pasta Station. They do make made-to-order pasta bowls, and they were delicious. I also had to get the "Everything Brownie" suggested by a few people on this board, and as it looks...it was delish!! :)

We made it an early night after dinner, so the kids could get a good nights sleep before our first park day tomorrow. Magic Kingdom here we come!!! :)

I'm sorry guys, but I don't think I'm going to finish my report. There's just way too many other reports to compete with, and writing one takes a lot of time. I don't want to waste mine if nobody is interested. Thanks to the few people who did check mine out. Have a great day! :)

You should finish it! I usually read them & when they're done then I comment on them. So, maybe that's what some of the others do!?

I hate to hear this. I love reading all of the reports here. I don't think it is about competing with them. It is more about offering another perspective. However, I do understand the time issue though.
