1st Time @ Boardwalk - Will Nightlife Keep Kids Awake?

When we booked in June, we wanted to stay near the rest of my family, which includes my 2 sons who are on my mom & dad's reservation since they got a suite at the All Star Music, but there wasn't a single room left to be near them. The best we could do was the Boardwalk. I'm not happy at all that they couldn't find ANY accomodations that could put us together, and they still gave us a Grand Gathering Number (although I don't know what the purpose is for it when we aren't even at the same hotel - i'm so sad that i'm going to be separated from two of my kids who are just 8 & 5 ).
Anyway, after talking to a few friends that have been to the Boardwalk who said that the nightlife there was pretty lively and could be heard from their room, i'm a little concerned since we will have our daughters with us, that this will be a bit of a distraction for them. Esp for our daughter who will be turning 13 while we're there.
Has anyone stayed there with kids and had any issues with the noise from the night time entertainment?
And as long as I might get a reply from a person(s) familiar with the Boardwalk, do they have a foodcourt area anywhere there? Mainly because we always buy the refillable mugs that are good for the lenth of your stay.

TIA for any and all your help! It's greatly appreciated! :sohappy:

To answer your first question.

The rooms overlooking the Boardwalk are "prime" so I've never stayed in them. Because of that, I've never noticed any noise due to the nightlife, and my children never had trouble sleeping. (I've stayed there about 5 times over the years)

The Boardwalk does not have a food court. Some of the restaurants are open for breakfast, and most people grab something at the bakery there. There is also a small breakfast area set up in the 2nd floor lounge.

I never purchase refillable mugs, so don't know if there are any self serve locations.

Spent a week in a room above the Flying Fish and the only noise we ever heard was the kids slamming doors across the hall :fork: and the horn on the boats early in the morning and late at night and it never disturbed us at all. There is no food court, all the food offerings are outside on the Boardwalk, the Belle Vue lounge serves a light breakfast (that we always skipped). You can get your refillable mugs refilled at the bar near the pool or at the bakery on the Boardwalk (they use a paper cup because of health laws). Go, relax and have a good time.

We've stayed there twice and both times are room overlooked the pool. People would swim in it at all hours and the noise never bothered us. It was nice having a room there so we could see how busy the pool was before going down to it. The noise on the boardwalk never bothered us since our room was so far away from it. It was a little annoying it not having a food court. Sometimes you just want to grab something back at your resort and the only real quick thing they had was a carnival type cart set up outside that sold only really greasy fried foods....and that even closed before we got back sometimes. No place to refill mugs yourself. There is a really good place at either the Swan or Dolphin (I just know it's the one to the right as you're walking over there from the Boardwalk). I think the restaurant was called Picasso or something like that. It was open til midnight and you could go through like a cafeteria line and pick out what you wanted. VERY good food and LOTS of it for a reasonable price. It was a little walk, but the best food we found to get there.
