i thought i added that. thanks for posting it.$150/night in 1988 would be about $320 adjusted for inflation.
In 88 they might have not had categoriesSame two nights in 2019 (April 22, 23) are $730 non discounted, $657 with current promotion.
That is for a standard view room. The bill doesn't state what room category was purchased.
The room is listed as 1112, which suggests that it was in Building 1 Bali Hai (now Tonga), the suites building. That is for a standard view room. The bill doesn't state what room category was purchased.

That $320 may well have been for a suite, not a standard room.My parents back then always wanted to stay at the Poly, it was like their dream - but we never did, because it was too expensive (never mind today's prices). When adjusted for inflation, at $320/night it puts it into perspective - expensive. We either stayed with friends at their hotel on the strip or Holiday Inn.
True, but even regular rooms were expensive - especially compared to off-property hotels. And we stayed for a solid week or more, so it added up.That $320 may well have been for a suite, not a standard room.
I found this and thought is was interesting. It's a bit faded but it looks to be 351 for 2 nights at the Polynesian hotel. Always neat to look back.
