We've been quiet today, but I've updated what we have going on here, putting what has been completed, as well as removing Pufflefan as they have dropped out.

Green= Complete
Yellow= In Progress

Once things are done, feel free to put it right on the website. If anyone needs any help, please don't be afraid to reach out, I believe in all of us and I think this land will come out phenomenally
@DashHaber @PerGron @pix any updates on what exactly the Jungle Cruise Successor is?

We’re doing a river cruise focusing on the wildlife of the island as well as humans’ impact on it. I’m pitching it as a hybrid of the story of a plussed-up Kali River Rapids with the vehicles of Jungle Cruise, and the scenery of Navi River Journey.

It’ll also be unique as it’ll serve as a transport between the two settlements. It’ll have two queues (one in each settlement) and two different paths to take which will be unique scenery and stories.

this is a very rough look at how it works, just to make it a bit more clear.

Oh great I was just about to do that haha. I just added Dash's flat ride, made pages and sub sections for everyone's part, and just a few pictures. It is looking great so far!
I'm glad it's all coming together. I know we kind of hastily decided this and some folks may not be 100% in on the theme, even now, but all things considered, I think we're gonna kill it once again!

Here are the snack stands.

Baobab Bounties

Within this large, hollowed-out baobab tree stands a snack shack that is devoted to providing travelers with a healthy treat. Fruit juices and fruit smoothies offer a refreshing option to drink, while small dishes of fruit salad offer some pleasant variety on which to munch. For those looking for something a little sweeter, they can enjoy a Maori classic in the form of paraoa parai (fried Maori bread). Whether healthy or a little indulgent, guests can enjoy a meal that is simple in form but full in flavor.

cgoeupw484l11.jpg

Flavors of Import

The streets of Harika Sehir can be a busy place, with traders and explorers coming from all over to take advantage of Motu Wairua’s riches. Different cultures and tastes can come together, such as at this row of snack stands. United under one business name, the stands offer a variety of treats. A Greek stand offers up tomatokeftedes (fried tomato balls) and spanakopita, while a neighboring Middle Eastern stand serves up grilled kebabs. Most astounding is a stand offering a treat said to combine tropical flavor with a winter chill…the Dole Whip!

The queue and the final part of the ride are both being worked on still, but I wanted to post my section before it got too late.

Kept formatting simple so it is easy to add to the website.

Siren Escape - Part 1 - The Caves/Ruins

As our subs depart we see the other sub (Sea Searcher Beta) through the rocks. The crew of rowdy explorers ready for adventure. Our unseen captain banters with them briefly over the radio before we dive into the depths.

SRxbBz0.png

Using similar technology to Shanghai Pirates exciting dive to the bottom of the ocean, we plunge deep below the waves to the darkest depths. The windows of our suspended tram ride vehicles (The same used for Universal's Kongfrontation) fill with water and bubbles (like Tokyo's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Ride) to complete the illusion that we are actually in the submarine, Sea Searcher Alpha, exploring an underwater cavern searching for the lost City of Atlantis when in reality the sets and figures remain dry. That way there's no need to worry about the practicality concerns with actually putting a ride underwater.

pirates-of-the-caribbean-battle-for-the-sunken-treasure-shanghai-disneyland-04092018-7.jpg

This section of the ride is quiet. Slow. Moody. Rock work with the occasional bits of crashed ships and other subs scattered about. Many have gone on this voyage before, but none have survived. We even pass directly through the hull of the other half of the wrecked ship of the merchants who founded Adventure Atoll tying this ride more into our land's backstory and providing a striking visual. There is the occasional nervous comment from either our captain or the crew of The Beta, but nothing much. Again, this section is quiet and atmospheric.

A quiet melody starts to be heard from an unknown source. Something Hauntingly Beautiful, but tough to make out. Our subs continue through the caves and we start to see ruins. The crumbling remains of the sunken city. Have we truly found Atlantis?

590_300_G7_1920_1080.jpg

We enter a large chamber that looks to be some sort of museum room or altar perhaps? In the back of the chamber is a tile mural half ruined. It seems to show some sort of fish creature holding sailor up to a mysterious shadowy beast as an offering. Is this a dark omen of what's to come? A deep voice echoes a warning to our brave explorers.

Sailors best Avert yer Eyes,
Sirens Sing of only Lies.
Their may sound fair and nice,
But to them you're just a sacrifice.

The Beta Crew are nervous, but get quickly distracted as they start to see the treasures of Atlantis scattered among the ruins. Skeletons of previous explorers who were consumed by their own greed are scattered about as well. Boney hands detached from their bodies, seemingly still moving and reaching for piles of gold. Though their movement must just be the waves, right? Our Captain tells us and the Beta Crew to keep focused, the real treasure is at the heart of the city.

"Can't even imagine what's in store if this is just the appetizer!" One explorer exclaims.

The song can suddenly be heard clearly. An enchanting and beautiful melody singing about the wonders of Atlantis and welcoming sailors to paradise.

""I'm not sure what's more beautiful! The music, or the girls!"

The first Siren comes into views. A mermaid like creature who is a lovely woman from the waste up. Singing to us as we enter the heart of Atlantis.

Siren Escape - Part 2 - The Sirens of Atlantis

5d9a7f66805c84c9b2b1caf9a00313ce.png

As our sub turns a corner, we see a section of Atlantis that looks pristine. Glistening with Pearls and jewels. A mix of Greek columns and Ottoman domes blend together to make strikingly beautiful architecture in this amazing lost city! Treasures are everywhere as are sea creatures swimming through the city. Most effects are practical, but screens and projections are used towards the back of the room to help give it more depth and life!

Sea Searcher Beta (the other sub) is parked in the center of the courtyard. The Explorers have now donned their dive suits and are exploring by swimming through it. Sirens are beckoning the sailors onward as the cheery song plays. The Captain of Sea Searcher Alpha (the sub that guests are riding in) warns us to stay in the ship.

1-mermaid-linden.jpg

"They might look like just some lovely lasses, but remember what that voice said. Sailors best avert yer eyes, Sirens sing of only lies"

This section of the ride is filled with Marc Davis style gags reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. A siren who is carrying an explorer around as she swims while he holds his arms out like an airplane. A sailor juggling priceless jewels to the amusement of a nearby siren. A nervous explorer acting shy being kissed on both cheek by sirens at the same time. Even an homage to the pirate with the stack of hats from PotC where one of the explorers has a stack of Ottoman style hats piled on his head as Sirens pile more on.

amd289045.jpg

All kinds of fun shenanigans as the song continues, but there is an underlying hint of a sinister secret behind the scenes. A siren in the background with a wicked smile instead of a charming one. A skull hidden among the gold. Even in the audio, the Sheperd's Tone (a note that sounds like it is constantly rising in pitch endlessly which is known to induce anxiety) is worked into the Siren's Song at certain points subtly in the background.

haunted-mansion-disneyland-ballroom-wide-620x419.jpg

Eventually we enter a large Ballroom in the Atlantis Palace. Sailors and Sirens dance together in a joyous celebration! (Since the Haunted Lighthouse didn't feature the iconic ballroom scene from the Haunted Mansion, this will serve as an homage to the dark ride E-Ticket). The further we travel through the ballroom, we start to see sirens dancing with the skeletons of sailors and explorers who had come this way before. The colors become darker. The walls are noticeably more worn.

The magical facade seems to be dropping. The Siren's Song becomes more overtly sinister. But the Beta Explorers don't notice the illusion is crumbling around them as they are too enamored by the Sirens. We hear a loud, ominous rumble as we enter the final part of the ride.

@Mickeynerd17 got caught up with some unexpected homework, but they already had a good draft for their section. I just polished it up for them! Here it is!

Siren Escape - Part 3 - Escape

Unbeknownst to the divers in the two Sea Searcher crews, the dancing sirens are there for a ritual. The Beta crew though they were just enjoying some good times in a treasure filled lost city with some beautiful women (well, the top half is beautiful, the bottom half is a fish), but in reality they were being lured into the heart of Atlantis by illusions masked by pretty music.

cathleen-mcallister-azteccomp61-750x375.jpg

The sirens dance with them as we slowly make our way to the altar, which is on a pyramid similar to the one we entered as part of the exterior building. Once we get to the altar, the sirens get the Beta Crew onto a platform, where they are disintegrated into atoms (Pepper's Ghost disappearing effect) as a sacrifice to spawn this spirit, who has been asleep for centuries. A mysterious, shadowy sea creature. Very large and very angry. The very same shadow that we saw on the tile mosaic earlier.

d58626e6d0e80f92538e3ed2d91a3c83.jpg

Guests resisted the temptation of the Sirens, and those were spared from the ceremony. But the creature is still there and is looking for creatures to eat.

As our sub proceeds through the city (which is now crumbling ruins once more as the magic has faded) looking for a way out, the creature proceeds to attack the sirens, who are in shock at the creature they spawned not being the deity they thought, but in fact a curse that sank the city in the first place. We see chaos as our sub tries to navigate out of a underwater temple that is falling apart around us and Sirens are now running scared trying to escape themselves. After eating a couple sirens, the spirit targets our sub, making the vehicle lurch just out of the way (The Kongfrontation Tram has mechanics in it to shake, these will be used extensively during this segment to up the excitement).

A large animatronic of the creature (which up to now has mostly only been seen in shadows or as a projection) swims right at us (similar effect to the chasing Carno in Dinosaur)!

We're toast!

Guests and the Captain of the Alpha Sub cry in terror!

Fortunately, a chunk of the roof falls and crushes the creature! It isn't enough to kill it, but it is enough to give us a chance to escape. Bubbles and projections and other effects are used to simulate our sub rising to the surface. Look closely through the wall of bubbles while rising and you might just notice the subtle detail that it was a regretful siren who broke the chunk of the roof to save us.

We safely Escaped Atlantis and can now return to the base!
