We were thinking of going to Disney California and I remember or maybe just thinking that we went to a place called Knotts Berry Farm and I want to say Magic Mountain or something like that. Anybody remember this or go to them and if so what are they like are they still there? If so what kind of park are they. Disney is only a 3 day thing at most and want to find something else we might enjoy besides the San Diego Zoo. Thanks if anyone can help me remember. Or did I just dream this up??

Knott's Berry Farm is still there and is a pretty good park by the way. Magic Mountain is a Six Flags theme park and right there with the most thrilling ones in North America. Comparable to the best like Cedar Point and Six Flags Great Adventure. I wish I have been to either one of them but I haven't, but I've looked them up and learned a lot about them

Yikes, I hope no one really believes Great Adventure is the best anything. It may have the biggest, "best" rides (most of which are often closed). The place is an absolute dump.

Kind of what I was thinking. It has the biggest "best" rides. Magic Mountain and Cedar Point have both the elite and volume of rollercoasters.

I never been out to California, but Knotts Berry Farm is something that would probably be worth doing sometime. You should look it up, because it has a pretty neat story, and is probably the first theme park in the U.S.

I did go to Knotts Berry Back in 1972 I think, a teenager and all I wanted to do was get back home to my friends in Albuquerque where we lived..Even saw Elvis in Vegas that year and my parents were not so fond of me I did not want to see him either... But secretly i loved the show and never told them either. I did not think of Googling Knotts. Not into coasters other than Big thunder love that... Thanks for letting me know I was not just imagining it. Also I hate Six Flags have one about 4 hours from us in Arlington Texas. High priced , as with the one in San Antonio. $6.00 for a hot dog and you get no relish no condos nothing. They changed it up so much when it was just Fiesta, great park back then till it was sold to Six flags Corp..

I just read your post and no I am not messing with you. i just wondered if it was still around. And as I just said while you were posting yours I was writing mine and did not occur to me about googling. I am so sorry to have wasted your time. Ziffman. I did not e3ver think I would get a rude comment like this. I also said I had been to them in the 70's just couldn't remember about them. Wanting some recent update about the park. So sorry to appear stupid on here everyone.

You haven't wasted anybody's time, so don't worry about that. Not everyone is familiar with Google, so it's nice you were able to get an answer to your questions here. :)

(I have to admit I was tickled by the fact that you got the names of Knotts and Magic Mountain exactly right, if you really don't remember them that well. Maybe your memory is better than you think!)

The thing is I have not thought about California and those days in years. I found an ticket book from Disney and the Menu from that Elvis show when I was going thru a ceder chest. But it brought me to think I remembered Knotts but somehow I think I must have thought it closed up. You NEVER hear anyone ever mention it on any boards.Just spoke before I looked. I have my own website I maintain but my business keeps me busy and I don't just sit down to google stuff. Well i am glad to see it is still there and for some reason the Magic mountain came to mind. I can remember my phone numbers from many years ago when we lived and grew up in Albuquerque, just cannot remember where I put a piece of paper with someones cc info to charge them out on an order. Go figure. I will find it in the morning I am sure.. ha ha
