1900 Park Fare

We are heading to Disney at the end of July. We are thinking of trying the character meal for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Do all of the characters go around the tables or do some stand in the lobby for pictures?

We have done Chef Mickeys during our last two visits for dinner and are thinking of trying something different. Our 9-year old daughter wants to see Cinderella this time and I know we can get in here much easier than the Castle.
Thanks,

We are going in May and will be trying the 1900 Park Fare dinner as well. I don't know much about it though. Hopefully someone who has been will come along. :)

we did 1900 park fare in aug 2003. It was a really good meal, great food (be sure to try the strawberry soup.) The fairy God mother is in the lobby, but Cindy and the prince are walking around the dining room along with 2 mice.

I really liked it and will do it again. It was a few dollars more per person then some places, but really worth it.

BTW we had lunch at the Castle the day before and "ran into" Cindy there. I was really impressed with this Cindy, she was so sweet and nice and talked to DD for a while. The Cindy at park fare was a bit more busy and basically only said thank you for coming.

Still I would recomend 1900 park fare for dinner. You will need PS (before you leave.)

I hate the fact that they got rid of the Villians. I understand they were frightening some kids. But I think that could have been alleviated if the characters came out out-of-character when necessary. From what I have read, a lot of the problems were caused by characters perhaps going overboard.

Anyway, I hear the food is great at 1900. Also, no disrespect for Cinderella fans. If your kids are looking forward to seeing her, then this is a great opportunity.

We did the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare during our honeymoon in January.

Fairy Godmother is in the lobby, which is very uncrowded. We chatted with her for about 10 minutes uninterrupted. She is one of the best "characters" I've seen - very magical experience!

Cinderella and the Prince, plus the 2 mice Suzy and Perla walk from table to table. The hostess instructs people to stay at their table and wait for the characters to make the rounds - however a lot of people didn't follow those instructions. Most of the time Cinderella was mobbed. We had to wait almost an hour and a half to see her and the Prince. At this point the visit lasted about 30 seconds (long enough for a picture and some smalltalk.) I thought that it was because we were childless adults, but I noticed that they only stayed with the kids that long too. It's a little perfunctory. The mice however are hilarious - they were mischievious and real "hams."

We had been a little squeamish about the price - but the food was excellent. I am quite the picky eater - I don't like anything too "exotic" - but they had a great selection of soups, salads, vegetables and pastas - and the prime rib was superb.

The Grand Floridian resort is absolutely breathtaking and 1900 Park Fare itself was quite pretty. There was calliope Disney music playing in the background and a beautiful carousel horse.
However, it's fairly small - so very noisy with small children and families.

I would definitely make a priority seating before going - it seemed to be a last minute choice for families - consequenly the wait was almost 2 hours.

Try for the castle if at all possible. My brother in law and his family went to Park Fare in October and were not very happy. The menu was seafood, and they said the whole place really smelled of seafood.

As it's been mentioned before, they were really disappointed in the amount of time they got to spend with Cinderella. They had been to the castle earlier that week and they said there was no comparison. They also loved Chef Mickey's where you get lots of character time. At Park Fare Cindy greeted them and moved on.

They went out on the dock afterwards to watch the fireworks and ran into some other guests that were very unhappy with the meal.

I have since heard a lot of people day they liked it, so maybe it was just a bad night. Just their opinion!:)
