I'm not saying whether this is good, bad, or indifferent. I'm just going to kick it out there and see what people think.
Say you're checking in for seven nights on December 15. Everyone knows you can make your length-of-stay dining reservations 180 days prior to your check-in date. You're able to book 12/15 at 180 days out, 12/16 at 181 days out, and so-on all the way up to your check-out date of 12/22 at 187 days out. Unfortunately, other guests with longer stays and earlier check-ins have already had access to each of those dates at 180+10, or 190 days out. What if you made a second "dummy" reservation for 12/5/2015, allowing you 190 day access to 12/15? This would allow you to book each day of dining reservations for your "real trip" at the earliest possible 190 days in advance. Once all of your reservations are locked down, cancel the dummy reservation and get your deposit back.
