Just wondering if anyone from the UK has done an 11 day trip..Reason I ask is that flying from Manchester instead of Glasgow is a saving of £450 and the 11 day instead of 14 is £ 600 cheaper..A total of £1.050..With flights now under 8 hours and leaving at 0945 and getting into Orlando by 1300, the day is not wasted..Any thoughts on this including my American buddies..

VA's prices literally can go up or down hundreds of £'s depending on what day of the week/date you fly. There are definitely good prices available though, it's worth looking into and trying +/- a few days of your planned dates.
I flew out in the (UK) Easter Holidays last year for £445 return per adult, so £890 in total. Definitely worth checking out their flights website (not the holidays one, or booking their flights in a package through Disney) like @Maddisneyfan said. We have done the same before, book the hotel/tickets package through Disney then the flights separately through VA flights' website. You can still use the Magical Express even when booking the flights separately!

Also, 11 days is plenty! My sister actually flew out from the UK for for 6 (yes, I know 6!) nights last year to join the rest of our family and we definitely managed to pack a whole lot into the 5 whole days she was there, I know she would say it was worth it!

Thanks for that info..I will look into VA flights again..Interested to hear your sister doing a 6 day vacation.I think lots of us UK visitors think because it's 3000 miles away that 2 weeks is a must..Ive friends who fly off to the canaries on a Friday and fly home on a Sunday.:eek:weekend break.

We have booked to go back to Disney in November 2014. The wife and I were at PORS in 2010 and the at Saratoga in 2012. When we look around for the last holiday and now the next one we found that booking the main holiday with disney and then the flights with VA from Gatwick/Manchester was a bigger saving than booking a package deal with Virgin or Thomson. Especially as some airlines take you to Sanford instead of Orlando International Airport (your further away from the magic).

A little tip to help with flights costs with VA. If you use a credit card then look at getting the VA Amex & Visa cards. You can get points over the year and you can even get upgrades or use the points to reduce the cost. We used the miles to buy premium economy seats at normal economy prices.

Also with staying at Saratoga Springs worked out cheaper than staying at PORS if you upgraded to the DDP not the QDP.

Well after three hours on the web, here are my prices from the UK...Based on prices only the dearest was Thomson..3 adults flying from Glasgow to Sanford 10th Oct till 24th..£3,761,94...... 2nd dearest was Virgin..£3,344,40...Manchester with VA was £2,729,27..But cheapest was Thomas Cook..From Glasgow to MCO ( starts next year instead of Sanford ) was £1,813,44... But from Manchester with TC it was £1,339,27..Thats for 12 nights based on 3 adults with Magical Express transfers..WDW holiday web site quoted for 12 nights at PORS from Saturday 11th Oct till Thursday 23rd Oct with 14 day park hopper tickets + free QS dining..£2,466,49... Remember the flights with virgin Atlantic for 2014 have not yet been put on sale. They will go on sale 11 months prior. At the moment you can only book a virgin flight through virgin holidays and they charge crazy money compared with booking direct with virgin atlantic. My whole holiday last Oct cost £4500 that included flights with VA, staying at AKL free dining and disney tickets 14 nights . We are booked for next year but we are more expensive as we are staying for 21 nights can't wait !! Just flights to sort which we will do in October/November when they are released. Great info about Thomas cook will need to price with them if they are flying to MCO

Correct..Virgin flights stated on line..336 days in advance..That price was based on October for this year..But amazed at the price difference with getting the deal with Thomas Cook from Manchester..

Sounds like an amazing deal.

Our very first visit to wdw was when our children were 8 & 7 some 20 odd years ago and we went for 4 nights from UK. We had a great time and saw lots although of course there were only 3 parks in those days.

I've been 8 more times since 2005 but have never stayed 2weeks, always 11 nights. The first few times we booked with virgin holidays but soon realised it is much cheaper to book flights with VA and ground arrangements through Disney. We fly from Manchester and stay over the night before at the airport.

I'll certainly be looking into the Thomas Cook prices though.

Here's my quotes from Thomson..Cheapest is CBR....then CS...and the dearest is POFQ/ RS..
We have stayed at CBR, CS, and PORS. If it saves money and its the difference between going next year or not, then CS it would be for me. We stayed there for Thanksgiving a few years back and liked it. But I would understand if you stay with your beloved PORS. :)

We have booked to go Oct 2014 4th - 18th and we always book before the adverts tell us to which means that this year we are staying at Saratoga springs 2a +2c park passes and table service dining plan for £3200 we just need flights then but as someone said they are not released until nov but usually pay approx £1800-2000 so on a delux resort it should be approx £5000 all booked through disney themselves every time it's the cheapest!!!!!
