10 days till we leave and still no magic bands

We have yet to receive our magic bands and we leave next Friday We called Disney today and my husband spoke with five different people and none of them could tell us why. They were very apologetic and said they were made but for some reason they can't tell where they are. I've been waiting for them since March 21st (they were set to be made on March 20th) and I've read they usually arrive within a week. I guess the worst thing that could happen is we get them when we check in at the AKL. It was our last official thing to get from them before our trip and that was the exciting part.

Good news? 10 days till we leave!!!!!!

I still can't believe we are going. I don't think it will hit me till we are driving to Florida.

As much as they are practically throwing these bands at people, I doubt they will have a hard time with replacing them for you at the resort. It'll pan out... somehow!

Yeah I knew they'd replace them. I am just slightly hoping we can still get the colors we picked out. I don't mind if they are waiting for us when we arrive. I just wish they knew what happened to them! LOL.

I'd imagine they have such a stock on all of the colors that it shouldn't be an issue.

I was told recently that the unofficial cut off date to ship them is actually 6 days out. Mine was over-nighted to me less than a week before arrival. Hopefully it gets fixed soon and they'll be on their way- or at least in pretty colors waiting when you arrive

6 days out?!? That's insanity! If they are over-nighted, and the carrier can't leave them at the front door, then what? With only a few days left at that point, this is something that would send me into a panic lol.

Hopefully that's not the case for the OP... hopefully @MJCota has some kind of confirmation from a CM that there will be backup bands waiting at the resort!

I got a call today and they final figured out the dang hang up. When we customized them we put our son's nickname for his band "Buggers" and apparently I couldn't put that. The lady on the phone said she had NO clue why we couldn't use it (it was offensive or anything) but we had to change it. So we just put Jr. They are going to ship them straight to AKL because we leave next Friday and don't want to chance them not getting to me. Yay for figuring it out Why does the name matter any way? I though it was just printed on the box? Hm. Oh well, doesn't matter to me at this point, I'm going to Disney in 9 days!! LOL. I think what bothers me is they knew the issue (the company that makes and ships them) and no one tried to contact us. Boo on them.

Glad it was figured out!

The name will be printed on the inside of the band, and visible to cast members. When you scan your bands for Fastpass+, you can see the screen at many of the attractions- your names will pop up. I've wondered if the name that shows up to them is the one associated with your ticket, or the one customized on your band!

I put Tiggerish on one of my bands, and it wasn't a problem.

I guess they mistook "buggers" for boogers, although why anyone would be offended by that is beyond me.

Did you get your tracking number on your MDX account (it usually comes in the e-mail they send you that they're "on their way" and it isn't your notifications)?? If you did, you can put that into UPS and they should tell you where they bands are. My guess is that if you haven't already received them then they were accidentally shipped via UPS to your hotel. If you have the tracking number you'll be able to see where they are.

It shouldn't really matter being in the States but the word '' is a mild swear word (and in some instances, can be used in an offensive way) here in the UK.

The day my son was born my father came into the delivery room and said, "He looks just like my dad! I'm calling him Buggy from now on." My grandfather died on Christmas Eve when I was 6 and everyone called him Bug. It was such a sweet thing for my dad to do. My sister, my cousin Stevie (who has downs) and I were grandpa's favorite grandbabies, so it just reminds me everyday of him
