Yeah, and my sources say the whole interior of the theater is being gutted/extensively modified (backed up by the fact they got a big name contractor on those permits) and those who really love the interior should document every inch for preservation. (Please)
They're not going to go out of their way, within a week of announcing the closing date for this, to cancel it, scrap all advertisement for it planned, throw out all film material already produced, throw out the AAs, made for it, props fabricated/in the process of fabrication, all so they can keep around a 20+ year old 3D film based off of god damn Bugs Life.
Read my lips: Bugs Life. One of the few Pixar films to barely get any single follow-up, supplementary material outside of this 3D show made before the film was even done.
They can't even use a "fan outcry" excuse for changing course here, because, let's face it, nobody outside of a section of the parks community is shedding tears over this show. RoA, Dinosaur, Muppets, those have a fair bit of fan outcry (peep the dinosaur sneak). It's Tough To Be A Bug? Not really.
So if your sources are claiming that they'll scrap everything worked on for this show to keep this around, as much as I love how much Bugs Life fits into DAK and dislike Zootopia, by all means, keep claiming it. But common sense+newly filed permits shows it's full steam ahead for this ZOO-gusting show.
