I find it funny that with all the fuss that comes with every single parks closure as of late, NOBODY CARES about its tough to be a bug. Moreover, its replacement is ZOOTOPIA at animal kingdom in some form, what people have been crusading against for years now! (even if the show is supposed to be educational or something)!

Yet despite both of these things, everyone just kinda shrugged and said “oh, ok”. Seems outta character for this fandom.

I think people were just relieved we were getting Zootopia hidden away in the Tree of Life instead of a sub-land taking over Dinosaur.

And I say that as someone who's favourite Pixar film is A Bug's Life and likes It's Tough to Be a Bug and loves Dinosaur and favourite WDW park is Animal Kingdom. When WDW has been on a mission to remove all my favourite attractions since my first visit in 2011 this feels like the best solution in a very bad situation.

I agree. I feel kinda bad for this generation of imagineering, because a lot of their recent additions and upcoming additions they have been working on (Disney songs in country bears, tropical Americas & tree of life zootopia, monstropolis and muppets , cars and villains ROA, ect ect…) all feel like the valiant attempts to make chicken salad out of the chicken sh*t unfavorable situations Disney corporate with their mandates and such are always getting the parks in.

Stuff like muppets RNRC and Zootopia going in the tree of life theatre as opposed to dinosaur and the whole village concept for the non-ip area of tropical America’s all feel like, at least to me, compromises corporate made after imagineering fought back.

100 percent a corporate mandate.

Iger needs to be gone already.

My picture of how these things go:
Corporate: “Hey, we want to you to (Terrible ip shoving/retheming thing that ruins integrity of park/area/is generally a bad idea)
Imagineering: “No way! This is a bad idea and people won’t like it!”
Corporate: “we want that sweet sweet synergy and ILL money and we don’t care about the meaning of parks or history or whatever. You’re going to do this and that’s final”
Imagineering: “We really don’t like this, can we at least compromise? How about (addition that is a compromise between the two, I.E. muppet rnrc, tropical americas v2.0, villains replacing roa as well as fans, ect.)
Corporate: “if it shuts you and the fans and AP’s up, sure I guess”.

As much as I don’t like what they are doing to the parks right now and tbink it isn’t great, I honestly feel we don’t have it as “worst case scenario” as we think we do. I feel like if upper management had things entirely their way, things could be a whole lot worse than even now.

I think it's safe to say Muppets, Dinosaur, Rivers Of America, (maybe) Rock N RollerCoaster are much bigger losses than It's Tough to be a Bug in most people's eyes.

Yea two of those on your list need to go.

Dinosaur and Rock N RollerCoaster are not major losses in my opinion.

I’m still torn on ROA and the Muppets because they are definitely blows to the parks.

But I’m holding out hope for Monsters and Cars being a success.

I cared, as I found TTBAB to be the best 3-D show Disney has created. And it fits the Tree of Life so perfectly. But considering we lost it here on the West Coast a few years back and the shorter shelf life of 3-D movie attractions, I understand the change. But I'm far more open to losing Muppets than TTBAB. TTBAB is still a great show, Muppet Vision...its a fun time capsule?

A theater presentation does not equal Furryland, that's what matters to most. A Bugs Life doesnt have a large current fanbase. Its all about saturation numbers...

The loss meter is like...

Muppets=RoA>Dinosaur>>ITtbaB>>>RnRC

For me at least.
is rnrc even a full loss? Sure the theme is changing, but it’s still RNRC, even in nameI see it more as a “test track -> test track 2.0 -> test track 3.0” kinda thing that’s just me.

Your loss meter is similar to how mine is. Muppets is at the top for me too.

Yeah me personally I cannot imagine a reality where muppets ends up being a worse theme than areosmith the coaster as it currently exists lacks any sort of charm and is just another weird Eisner move imo
