Trip Report “Parents please supervise your children, and children please supervise your parents” 2018 Graduation Trip Report! *COMPLETE*

Well, it’s been three days, but I’m back from “The World”. Still trying to recover and catch up on sleep :hilarious:. I was pretty exhausted, but we had a great time! The Disney depression has officially kicked in, but I’m hoping this TR will help alleviate some of the pain.

For those of you who are just joining and are wanting to know the Who, When, Where, and Why, feel free to read my PTR!

https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-captain-is-headed-home.940164/

This is my first TR, and the bar was set pretty high for first timers (cough cough @becca_ cough cough). Seriously, if you haven’t read her first TR, you need to! Anyways, I hope everyone bears with me and enjoys the 2,000+ pictures that I made, along with this TR! :)

Up next: Travel Day!

I ended up getting a chocolate croissant. :hungry:

This is what a good chocolate croissant looks like. (cough cough, Panera Bread, cough cough)

Since it was very hot outside, they had giant coolers on both sides as you entered filled with ice water. It was very nice and convenient. Just grab a cup and fill up as many times you want! Hopefully they’ll start doing that at other qs/cs restaurants.

I grabbed us a FP for Small World, so after we chilled for a bit, we headed there next.

After our cruise around the world, we headed back to Frontierland to check on Splash. The app was showing that it was still down, but we wanted to double check.

Splash was indeed still down, and the CMs had no idea when or if it’d be back up.

This is where my memory gets a little fuzzy, but I think I’ve got it figured out. L started to get a headache, so she went to find some caffeine. M and I wandered over to Adventureland.

Ok y’all, I’ve seen countless Jack Sparrows at WDW throughout the years, but this guy is by far the best!

He sounded just like Johnny, and his posture and movements were spot on! Now his face was a little off, but nothing too bad. Overall, his performance was outstanding! Also, he was very good and patient with the kids, especially the little ones.

I love this show soooo much! It’s fun, interactive, and very enjoyable. The only things I would change about it, is replace Mack with Gibbs, and of course, add Barbossa. ;)

As the show was wrapping up, M went to the restroom. I texted L to see where she was. Turns out she was standing right behind me. :hilarious: We walked over to the Tiki Room to see how long before the next show. It was only 12mins, so I texted M and told her to meet us by the entrance, and she did.

“Strike ya colors ya blooming cockroaches!” :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

They’ve added more air pressure to the explosions in the water, so they’re a lot more powerful now. One went off right in front of us and we got pretty wet. Not complaining though. I’m glad they added more pressure. It makes it more exciting.

When we got off Pirates, M and L were ready for dinner and wanted to break tradition and eat at Columbia Harbour House (normally eat there last night at MK). But I wasn’t gonna break tradition, nor was I hungry yet, so I grabbed me a FP for Pooh.

Off to the Hundred Acre Wood!

Btw, I’m super excited about the new Christopher Robin movie! The trailers look really good. Who else is gonna see it opening weekend?

After my journey through the Hundred Acre Wood, I went over to the Harbour House to meet back up with M and L.

Eating upstairs overlooking Liberty Square is the best.
63E0CCD1-7641-4284-9E16-357EF15CBF36.jpeg

They were finishing up. I think they both had the shrimp and fish combo.

There was an outlet at the table, so I plugged up my phone, which was at 40%, so it could charge for a few minutes. Apparently this made the idiot and his family sitting on the other side of the room extremely angry.

The guy started yelling at me and said that I was lazy and had no right to be charging my phone and that I needed to leave. In my head, I was like dude just shut up and eat your dang food! What I do is none of your business!

I finally got up and politely told him it was perfectly fine for me to charge my phone and that he needed to mind his own business. I pointed out the 5 other people who were also charging their phones and told him that if he was bothered by it, just leave.

Geez, what an...oh wait, I probably shouldn’t say that on the forums. Let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy was Henry’s brother. :hilarious:

Anyways, we left the Harbour House and decided to hit up PhilharMagic.
AE680B7C-EB63-49E1-BB40-45DE42094E93.jpeg

Good show, but man that film needs to be updated. My 3D glasses were as clean as they could be and it was still blurry! All the special effects did function properly though.

I didn’t take a picture for obvious reasons, but there was a dead, squished up baby bird on the ground right outside the exit of PhilharMagic. I’m not kidding. I hope it was removed before someone’s little princess stepped on it. :hilarious:

The guy who was removing the nests at the TTA needs to make a stop at PhilharMagic.

I checked the app, and Splash was up and running! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: Back to Frontierland!

We used our paper FPs that they handed out earlier.

WHAT?!?! What in the world is wrong with people?! Was this guy from the 19th century or something? Everyone charges their phones at tables with available outlets these days. That is a very bizarre response. I'm glad you stepped up to him. Hopefully he felt like a stupid idiot afterward.

Just like Everest, Big Thunder is way more fun at night!

The people in front of us absolutely loved Big Thunder, and planned to ride it again before the night was over! It’s awesome to witness guests experience an attraction for the first time! :joyfull:

After BTM, L went to go hunt herself a spot for HEA, and I met M so we could ride HM.

Luckily the CMs didn’t rush everyone into the stretch room, so we were able to watch the portrait all the way through.

By the time we got out of HM, HEA was about to start.

Confession: I can either take or leave watching the fireworks at MK. Most of the time, instead of fighting the crowds for a mediocre spot an hour in advance, I just rather take advantage of the short lines and ride something. If I don’t see the fireworks at MK, my feelings won’t be hurt.

M is about the same way, so we decided to hangout with Hector and Jack again.

It was cool because you could here the fireworks while in the queue, which sounded like cannon fire, and it gave the impression that the fort was under attack, which was the story prior to the 2006 refurb.

I always eat dinner at Cosmic Ray’s on our first night at MK, so that’s where I was headed. L called to see where we were. She was actually standing in front of CR and was gonna wait for us.

:inlove:

I was sooo hungry. It was approaching 10, and I hadn’t eaten anything since the chocolate croissant around 4.

Originally, I was going to get the baked chicken and mashed potatoes, but I changed my mind and got the bacon cheeseburger instead.

The topping hog was at it again. :hilarious:

Like the nachos, not pretty, but it sure was good! Needless to say, it was devoured in minutes. Out of all the times I’ve eaten at CR, I’ve not had a bad burger. I think L may have gotten a side of green beans.

We sat in the area with Sonny Eclipse. I’d never seen him before. It was pretty cool.

We left CR and headed to Storybook Circus next for EMH.

Imo, the Barnstormer is more thrilling than SDMT. :hilarious: I grew up riding this as a kid, so to me it’s a must-do.

Once we got off, I went back towards Frontierland and M&L went to do something. (teacups I think)

Even though you’re only going like 5mph, the Speedway is a lot of fun, especially at night.

It’s an opening day classic, and I’d hate to see something happen to it, so fingers crossed that they’ll stick with the current concept art for Tron and leave the Speedway alone! :angelic:

I don’t think we waited long for a bus, but we had to stand. I just remember the couple rubbing up against me getting very intimate with each other.

As soon as we made it to our room, I got ready for bed and fell fast asleep. I was planning to get up early, not 5:45 early, but still early.

Up next: Day 4!

Sorry if y’all feel like I’m dragging this out. That’s not my intentions. I’ve been so busy dealing with college related stuff, along with traveling a lot. Hope y’all understand.

Thursday May 24th: EPCOT

My alarm went off at 7:10. I think L was already up. EPCOT was having morning EMH, so I quickly, and quietly (M was still sleeping), got ready.

I was out the door by 7:19.

L was still getting ready. :hilarious:

When I got to the bus stop, an EPCOT bus was already there fixing to leave, so I sprinted over and got on.

I soon arrived at EPCOT and made it through security (no bags) and the MagicBand scanners pretty fast.

For once there wasn’t a mob of people standing in front of the topiaries, so I was able to get some really good pictures!

This is the greatest up-close picture of SE that I’ve ever made.

L had arrived and made it through the gates. She wasn’t really sure where she wanted to go first.

They ended up dropping the rope at 7:50, then it was time to run with the bulls over to TT. But I didn’t run with them long, thanks to my shortcut. ;)

I decided to get in the standby instead of single rider. There were only 7 people in front of me. I would have actually waited longer if I had gotten in the single rider line.

It was finally 8, so they dropped the chain and I was off to the design studio!

I actually passed L on the way to the Sim Track. She ended hopping in the single rider line.

I honestly can’t remember if my car won any tests. I think it got blanked. :hilarious: Oh well.

I waited for L, who was just a couple cars behind me, then we walked over to Norway, via the Odyssey, to ride the Maelstrom Murderer.

It was a 10min wait, but we literally walked on.

Such a nice view of my face. :hilarious:

After frozen, we were hungry and ready for breakfast. L nor I wanted Seasons again, so we chose Les Halles and started to head towards France.

It wasn’t quite 9 yet, so we explored the Twinings English Tea Garden until they opened the bridge to France.

I think tea is nasty, but the garden was really cool.

The bridge soon opened, and we continued on to Les Halles.

Breakfast!

Even though I’ve been to Les Halles many times, I’d never gotten anything for breakfast. The thing I love about Les Halles, is that there are so many different options. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.

L went with a croissant and I finally made up my mind and went with a palmier.

:hungry::hungry: Boy was it good! Chocolate and cinnamon. What more could you ask for?

It was a lot more soft and flaky (like a croissant) than I anticipated. I highly recommend it and will definitely be getting it again!

After breakfast, M had arrived and L was going to meet her in Norway so they could ride frozen together. I checked the app, and Soarin’ was a 15min wait, so I booked it over to the Land pavilion.

I sure had some good entertainment while waiting. There were two women behind me that must’ve been close friends. From what I was able to gather, the two women and their families get together and go on a big trip once or twice a year. Obviously this year they picked WDW.

As they were loudly talking, and I was being nosy :hilarious:, one of the women suggested that for their next trip, they should go on a Mediterranean cruise. The other woman didn’t think it’d be a good idea. She said she’d be worried that their ship would be attacked by Somalian pirates. Ok people, if you know anything about geography, or have any common sense, you’d know that Somalia is nowhere near the Mediterranean Sea. I think someone’s been watching Captain Phillips. :hilarious: She also believes that Pandora is at DHS.

Then, one of the women started to talk about her adult son. Allegedly, he has a “condition”, and the only way he can “cope” with it is to constantly play video games. She went on to say that he’s already been fired from 3 jobs because he was playing games on his phone nonstop. He was going to start his 4th job soon, and she didn’t know what he’d do if he couldn’t be playing on his phone while working. Sounds like his “condition” is laziness, and he’s addicted to video games, if you ask me.

They directed me to concourse C. This was my first time in the new theater.

Even though I rode it a couple nights ago, I was still excited to see the new film.

After my international flight, I met up with M and L and we headed to SE for our first FP of the day.

After SE, I think we rode LwtL next. For some reason, I didn’t take any pictures, but I’m 95% sure that’s what we did. We then walked back to Norway so I could stop by the Puffin’s Roost. Earlier I had noticed that Larry Dotson was going to be there selling/signing his prints, and I wanted to get one and have him sign it. I had the print, which I’ll show y’all later, sent to Sports so it wouldn’t get messed up.

We headed back over to the Land for our Soarin’ FP.

After our flight around the world, we mulled over what to do next. We still hadn’t used our 3rd FP yet, so we decided to grab one for the Character Spot.

Confession: We didn’t see Mickey or any other characters on our last trip.

How pathetic. That is my biggest battle at work. I'm constantly telling people to put their phones away. It drives me crazy!!
