Cuts coming to every area of parks and resorts - thanks to Shanghai and Paris

It's not just Shanghai and Paris causing problems, but apparently Hong Kong as well. Lost $19.2 million last year due to attendance falling from 7.5 million down to 6.8 million. http://variety.com/2016/biz/asia/hong-kong-disneyland-in-loss-1201706466/

Operating hours of several Epcot attractions and shops to be reduced from Feb 2016

None of which contradicts my point, you merely are calling them complacent and non-visionary. But I think we could both agree that, to finish your tree of leadership, that the idiot business owner continues to do the same thing in the hope that the result will change. Here they are at a...

Operating hours of several Epcot attractions and shops to be reduced from Feb 2016

I was there 2 weeks ago with 3 small kids, so we went to do Imagination around 8:30, before Illuminations. There were more cast members on this side of the park then there were guests. Inside Imagination itself, there was 1 at the entrance, 4 at the load station, and 2 at the exit. I didn't...

If you could replace a WDW ride/show with it's DL version, which one would it be?

I know my 4 year old son would vote for the DL railroad over the WDW any day.

The Force Awakens - spoiler thread

First off, I loved the film, but that's not to say it didn't have it's problems. The entire thing was a rehash, but I get why, they needed to play it safe to get the initial installment off the ground. Disney, with $4B on the line couldn't get overly ambitious, they needed a sure fire homerun...

    Muppetvision- Retire or relocate?

Well, if the future of the attraction is based on the performance of the ABC show, I think it's probably a safe bet that the attraction is safe in it's current format at a minimum. The plans for SW and TS lands aren't contingent upon whether the ABC show is a success of not, they already have...

    Train refurb in Germany?

This must be how Epcot is using their $350 million.

    Castle construction?

Actually, the crane is still up, but you can walk through. Cinderella's Royal Table is closed though, as is the area immediately to the right as you get to Fantasyland where he crane is.

Splash Mountain & Kali River Rapids 2015 winter refurbishment dates

Not sure where to post this or if it's even relevant, but they filled Splash today and are running test boats add I type. Hoping maybe for an early opening so I can get a ride Saturday, but not counting on it.

    Crowd Calendars vs Wait Times

I was there that day and it was ridiculous. Fortunately they recognized how crazy it was and kept the park open an extra hour. By 6:30 the lines were way down. Today was much more in line with late January expectations. I think it's a good guideline, but know that there are always anomalies.

Can I add park hopper while at WDW?

Thanks everyone, awesome answers. and I agree the park hopper is great. It's just I didn't use it the last 2 trips when the kids were very young, so didn't want to waste the money unless the opportunity presented itself to get value from it this time.

Can I add park hopper while at WDW?

So, I'm headed down next week, and thus far I do not have a park hopper as in year's past, I've never used it (3 small kids makes it difficult). However, the thought of only going to Epcot once has me a bit unsettled. So, my question is, should we be down there, and discover that we have some...

The greatest tv series ever is without doubt ...............

I like the votes for West Wing. Also throwing Friday Night Lights and Battlestar Gallactica (the newer one, not the 70's show) into the ring.

DHS Soundstage 1 Renovation - Toy Storia Mania expansion

Yahoo's actually been posting articles fairly critical of the Maelstrom decision. Nice change of pace for them.

DHS Soundstage 1 Renovation - Toy Storia Mania expansion

Could be, but going back to page 1, one of the permits expired in September of 2016. The timing seems to match up very well with Dory. Plus, Nemo is #5 on the list of highest grossing animated films, while Incredibles is at #17. If Disney were going to try to synchronize rides with very...

DHS Soundstage 1 Renovation - Toy Storia Mania expansion

Everyone keeps talking about how Disney got caught flat footed with the success of Frozen and they didn't have anything pre-postured to captitalize on it's success. With that in mind, my guess, and it's just a guess, I haven't seen, heard, read anything, is that this is Nemo related. Last time...

Studio Backlot Tour Closing on September 27, 2014

I don't doubt that this is accurate, but I'm trying to figure out the benefit of it? Seems to me that closing just before the fiscal year ends makes very little sense as you've incurred the operating cost for the whole year. Closing it for a few days doesn't help at all, unless it's to aide on...

Will Disney ever do something with River Country?

I'm going for the exact opposite. "You've been a member for 6 months, how do you only have 3 posts?" Can't believe I just wasted one on this. That's going to keep me out of commission for weeks.
