    Finger scanning for children

Has anyone been to the parks recently with children who were on a child ticket? Did they scan their finger? We have a ticket for our 3 year old, but would prefer not to scan his finger, as adults have difficulty, and it would just be easier not to, but CNN had an article today about 'ticket...

    Training as a parent

Hello! I'm training for the wine and dine half marathon in November. I'm currently up to 6 miles, but have a training question for all the parents out there. What kind of runs do you do during the week? I'm debating between doing 1 mile runs tues/Thurs at kind of a tempo pace (basically as fast...

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

I did TOT in 2014 and the discounts were awesome. I was nervous they were going to do away with them.

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Does anyone that has run this before have any recollection of when they announced the room and ticket discounts? Does the change to a morning race sort of indicate they won't have discounts this year? Just called to book a room and both Beach Club and Yacht Club only have club level rooms...

New Star Wars half at WDW announced

This is informational for me, but because this is the most recent registration to open, if you want to register yourself and someone else, a spouse or child, do you have to go in multiple times, or can you do it all from the same screen?

    What did you do?

A 5k thus morning in 37:57, a 12:13 average pace, and a little better than the 39:14 I did at the same 5k last year AND I just had a baby 10 weeks ago, so I'm pretty happy with my time!

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Is anyone staying at the polynesian with the race discount? Would you mind if I ask what you're paying per night? I'm not running until next year, but we got wilderness lodge last year for TOT 10 miler at $325 per night, but the travel page says the deluxe start at $299 per night, but I'm...

    Running after pregnancy

Got up to 4 miles in 54 minutes on Sunday, which I was pretty happy about. The first two miles were each 12:30. I was happy to see though that runners have until august to send in times for wine and dine half marathon, as I was nervous about getting a good time for my October 10k to use for...

    Running after pregnancy

Thanks everyone. Since posting this, I've continused running every other day and did 2 miles today at a 12:30 pace, which is really encouraging. It's so good you're continuing to run! I only walked through my pregnancy, and it's been harder than I expected getting back into it. You should...

Spending Money - How Much To Consider

I'd probably budget about $100 per day. From past experience, I'd say about $20 for breakfast and $30 for lunch or dinner at a quick serve restaurant (total for both of you). That being said, there are some ways to save money, you can get groceries delivered through services local to Orlando or...

    Running after pregnancy

I had a baby about 7 weeks ago and feel like I'm having a hard time getting back to where I was prepregnancy. I'm guessing a lot of the women runners on here are mothers? What have some of your experiences been? I was running about an 11 minute mile before pregnancy, and stayed active...

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Has anyone been able to book a DVD through a rental company (we usually use David's vacation club)? My husband and I plan on running in 2016, and while this is just for planning purposes, since the race sold out so quickly, I think it would probably be best to wait and make sure we can register...

Has anybody used the Disney vacation account?

We're using it for our November 2016 trip, primarily because the 2% return ($20 gift card) is better than any interest rate we'd get by sticking the money in a savings account. If I werent so lazy, I'd switch the automatic deposit from our debit card to our disney visa to get an even better return.

What could Disney do better for parents ?

We lost the one sippy cup we brought with us and we're really surprised they don't sell them in the parks or the baby care centers. We really had to search before we found one. Another thing that doesn't specifically make the trip easier but I'd like to see is gender neutral baby clothing as we...

    Disney Vacation Account

I did the 2014 Tower of Terror 10 miler and was able to buy discounted park tickets. My husband and I are doing the 2016 Wine and Dine half marathon, and have opened a disney vacation account because you get a $20 gift card for every $1000 spent on your vacation, which results in a better...
