    Newly single, need advice

Oh my, I have not been on this forum in so long.... But I'll be returning to WDW in July. Since becoming single again 8 years ago, I've taken the kids every other New Years to the world, but it's hardly the vacation to be able to branch off on my own for any length of time. Last summer my ex...

Usually stay in a moderate but thinking Wilderness Lodge for next trip..worth it?

I stayed there for the first time Dec 28-Jan 3 this year. We stayed for the same reasons you mention - crazy busy time and we knew we would be staying in the parks late and wanted good access. I actually lucked out and paid for a standard room but had a view of the castle from it. We loved...

Magic Kingdom now at Phase 3 closing (25 Dec, 12:10pm EST)

We used to wake up on Christmas morning at the Contemporary when I was younger. That was in the late 70s-early 80s. It was not a big deal back then, and really I don't remember crowds at all. Me and the kiddos leave out of here at 4 am in the morning for WDW. It will be our second New Year's...

Saratoga Springs or Old Key West

I've stayed at both several times, and love both of them, however I am partial to OKW. I love the extra room. I love the theme. I love the bigger bathtub. The only con for me at OKW is that the two times we tried to eat there, service was HORRID. Just terrible. One waiter actually dropped...

    Easter Candy "Hunts" at Resorts

My kids and I stayed at OKW over Easter a few years ago. On Easter morning, we went out to the tennis courts and they had a HUGE candy grab. HUGE. We are hoping to go back this coming Easter. Do they do these candy hunts at all resorts or just DVC ones? Anyone know for sure?

    Christmas @ WDW Ideas

I always take Christmas lights when I visit in December and hang them on the balcony. Its festive, but its also fun to be able to pick your room out as you come driving up. :xmas:

Question about your website, which is AMAZING. My first visit to WDW was in 1973. Mom and dad had a "moviecamera" back then that taped video but no audio. You feed the film through a projector and cast it on a screen. I have mainly video of the characters - Big Bad Wolf, Three Pigs, etc and of...

What was Spaceship Earth like in 1989?

What an amazing collection!!! Thank you for this link. I skipped ahead on O Canada to the theme song (which is one of my absolute favorite parts of Epcot) and now plan to head over to France and then the American Adventure. Probably shed a tear or two during the Golden Dreams segment - I...

    Golden Oak... Anyone?

I think if I had that kind of money, I'd just plan to stay at the Four Seasons rather than buy and have to maintain a house there. Tho it does look wonderful. A developer came in and sold multi-million dollar home sites near where I live. Prospective buyers came in by helicopter to view the...

The Best Thing I Ever Ate....Disney

Ohana's peanut sauce on ANYTHING, but more specifically on the dumplings and turkey. Do they even have the turkey anymore? My kids don't like Ohana's so we haven't been in a while.

GOOFY!!! How could you forget the goof? =)

Chef Mickey or The Crystal Palace

I've had breakfast at both several times. Even though both are really "active" it just seems like the Crystal Palace is more cramped. It may totally be my perception, but it seems like there's more space at CMs. Its also the easiest place to get to see Mickey.

    Official WDW Colors??

I always think of Mickey's colors when I think of WDW. Red, yellow and black with some purple in there.

    How crowded will it be...

That's actually a great week. The week before most schools get out for Christmas break. Decorations are up and crowds are low. I've been during that week several times over the years.

iPhone Apps for WDW; wait times and maps

I have to vote for "Lines". If you have the Unofficial Guide, you get a discount on the cost of it, but even at full price its a great app. ETA: I like the wdwmagic app too! I play on it at work. Let it pick a ride for me and my mind wanders for a few minutes.

Why on earth are strollers so expensive to rent?

I personally liked the rental strollers when my kiddos were that age. We brought our own stroller once and decided never again. Carrying a sleeping child AND trying to fold and carry a stroller onto a packed bus at night is no fun. The Disney strollers hold a LOT of stuff - backpack, popcorn...

    wrist bands for pools

They do the wristband thing at the beach resort we stay at in Sandestin, and my son is still wearing his after a month and a half. He thinks its cool. One of those orange rubber bracelets. Each resort has a different color, and they religiously check for them to make sure you're supposed to be...

    Disney Screwed up

I have found that when you plan for something to be perfect, it rarely is. Don't stress, enjoy the fireworks, and don't keep thinking about it. Nothing can be done to take it back, so don't dwell on it. Have a great trip!

    Rose & Crown/Illuminations

I have the final seating time at Rose and Crown for New Year's Eve. Hoping they keep this area reserved for those dining inside on that night...that's the whole reason I booked it.

Merchandise question - Does anyone know how many different towels are available?

Sorry, don't know about current towels, but I have to agree...we have Figment and a Blizzard Beach towels. I love them! I bet they've been washed a hundred times, and their color has not faded and they are still just as thick as the day we bought them. I think beach towels are a great souvenir!
