New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

Yeah and some fluids.….after the hike in from beach club through the back gate and through WS in the blazing sun it was time for AC and some drinks. It can get crowded and I think maybe even end up with a waiting list once full. When some Covid restrictions were still in place indoors they...

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

I was last there in August when it was 1,287 degrees outside and it was actually comfortable. The glass must be tinted pretty good or something :)

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

Sure, but in reality it’s a choice between leaving it vacant most of the time or using it for a lounge at least some people could use. I’d much rather see it reimagined with some better food offerings too but if that isn’t going to happen anyway I‘d rather see them use part of that space for...

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

Yeah, probably right. It is a big space though so they could pretty easily carve out an area more towards the back and wall it in. The lounge doesn’t need to be huge, although one at MK would probably have even higher demand. EPCOT lounge: Disneyland Lounge: Inside of Tomorrowland...

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

Haha me too. As far as snacks it isn’t anything too fancy. Mostly bags of Cheez-its and maybe some cookies along with the freestyle machines, but the price was right ;) If you looked up and didn’t see a large glass pyramid above you it was not the one in Imagination.

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

That’s a valid point on splitting up the space. I think even if they didn’t have to pay for plumbing that once this becomes a lounge it won’t go back to an attraction. Tomorrowland Terrace is a big footprint. They could carve out a portion of it and keep the front porch area for the dessert...

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

Somewhere in MK would be the most popular choice for in park, but I wouldn’t mind a lounge inside ToT or somewhere in galaxy‘s edge either but I don’t see that happening. Speaking of empty spaces…..they have a whole Star Wars hotel sitting vacant. Would make a pretty cool lounge.

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

I am holding out hope for an actual attraction at SGE. I agree it’s probably too prominent and also would probably take some work to gut. There are other spaces that would be easier to convert.

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

….yeah, it would not be a surprise, but on the bright side it may be too expensive to gut the inside to make a lounge. There are other spaces (even at MK) available that would require less work to convert.

New Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Walt Disney World

It costs disney nothing to do this. They will use an existing space that is not being used currently so nothing lost. They will offer some snacks and beverages for free and they will have CMs working there but the costs of those things will be charged back to DVC and paid for through member...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Agree 100%. That’s why Encanto Land made no sense for MK but Villains Land would fit nice. The lands at MK should be more general where IP based rides that fit the land would be fine IMHO. That being said, the Radiator Springs Racers ride could maybe fit as a ride in Frontierland with the...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

It seems like the plan now is the AK project will come before beyond Big Thunder Mountain. They hardly mentioned the MK expansion and gave no details this time around. TWDC doesn‘t want to drop a billion in capital improvements for this or any park project immediately but the construction will...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I think expanding Troptical Americas makes more sense. Nemo as an Encanto show or some other show that fits the theme. The the bridge over from EE becomes the clean break between Asia and Americas. Then make a more direct path into main Encanto area. If they eventually did an Oceania land...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

"Welcome to a kingdom of animals... real, ancient, and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs, and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony, and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn."―Michael D. Eisner, April 22, 1998...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Yes, this exactly. Asia is a well themed land featuring appropriate animal exhibits and shops/restaurants to fit in the land and also features Everest and Kali which are both good rides that fit well into the area even though neither is a direct animal experience. The fact that Encanto and...

I believe the wording I saw was Encanto and Indiana Jones “themed experiences” but hoping that means 2 rides and not a ride and meet and greet :)

So is the rumor that there would be a Mystic Manor type Encanto ride? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times here but is that something they discussed?

100% yes. This is the only possible answer to butterbeer ;). Can you somehow add rum to a chilled monkey brain?

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

You are riding on the back of an animal on the main ride….a fictitious one, but still an animal. The secondary ride features animals as well….again not real ones. If beastly kingdom concept happened with a dragon would that not fit because it’s a fictitious animal? I’m not saying yes or no...
