I taught a physics program at WDW while working as a castmember for the YES program (Youth Education Series). Everytime I taught the program I got to RIDE space mountain, once with the lights on, then with the lights off.

This is sad, sad news. I loved the TL loop. I was a tomorrowland cast member in the last 90's. Here's 'Summer Day' & 'Behind the waterfall' brings back memories of wiping down tables, and waiting for the Remember the Magic parade to begin... I hope Disney will still use the loop somewhere...
