    Bring it Back

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and then what was right across from that, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Oh, and the original Journey into Imagination.

    WDW literally falling apart

That facade is based on a real building in Los Angeles, the old Max Factor building in Hollywood. There's also a facade at California Adventure based on the same building. As for why the original architect chose two different stones? It was Hollywood in the 30s, so why not.

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I grew up in the 90s, so to me Modern was already on that pedestal with Sally's and Pepe's. It's almost as old as them as well and was my family's favorite in New Haven (my grandmother grew up next to Pepe's yet preferred Modern). Today, there are descendants of the three New Haven pizzerias all...

News 'Passage to Frontierland' Sign Returns to Magic Kingdom After Long Absence

This can also be said for what the sign originally said: "Caribbean Plaza." They even went further by putting "Pirates of the Caribbean" in smaller type under it!

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Well, he never said he had "apizza." I prefer Zuppardi's, but Modern is probably the best of the original 3.

MK New Beak and Barrel - Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge

I'm excited that this lounge will flesh out Caribbean Plaza a bit and add some much needed life to the area. It's is one of the most beautiful and best themed areas on property, with its nooks and crannies and (former) fountains, but has been terribly underutilized for decades. This lounge...

News Disney and Miral Announce New Seventh Theme Park Planned for Abu Dhabi

They had a legit NASCAR racetrack in the Magic Kingdom's parking lot for over a decade. And yes, you could hear the cars from the park (and even worse, in those expensive Polynesian rooms too). The bigger issue is the crowds that show up for those things, but Abu Dhabi has more than enough hotel...

News Jellyrolls Announces Departure from Disney's BoardWalk at Walt Disney World

Disney moved fast in deleting Jellyrolls from the official maps on the website/app, they also took the opportunity to finally remove Big River Grille as well (it was still labeled on the map despite closing more than a year ago).

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Effects Status Watch

The Mama Odie video screen before what used to be the Laughing Place was off on Saturday, but on/fixed by Monday. Juju (and Mama Odie's lines reacting to him) was working Monday night.

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

There's a map in the queue that is clearly labeled as 1880 (google search "big thunder mountain queue map" for pics). Big Thunder is the culmination of the chronological voyage of American history along the River from the 17th century beginning in Liberty Square to 1880s-90s in the farthest...

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

The Edie McClurg minivan character actually says exactly this to her husband in the first movie: "Oh, for the love of Chrysler, can we please ask someone for directions?"

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

After reading through this 162-page thread, I've started to reach the acceptance stage, where I begin to think about how in a perfect world they can make this work (note I said perfect world): Frontierland becomes a logging/mining town, I'm thinking something aesthetically similar to Red Dead...

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Is there actually enough room for this attraction here? Or are we getting Radiator Springs Racers without the dark ride portion? If all we're getting is a short, outdoor attraction that will be closed 1-2 hours a day for weather, then just give us a clone of Grizzly River Run with Humphrey, Chip...

EPCOT's Mission SPACE set to undergo exterior refresh

Who knows if it's true, but I remember reading years ago that apparently people watching the gravity wheel continually rotate while they were standing in line actually increased the motion sickness problem on the ride, some sort of visually induced dizziness that the ride then exacerbated.

    Pinball Machines

That was the old Flying Fish Gameroom at the Turtle Pond pool; it was tiny but I loved it when I was a kid because no one was ever in there. The games are gone and the room now has a beverage refill station (no coffee though) and a small table.

Polynesian, Wilderness, yet POP is the best !!!

In April I had a 5-day stay planned for the Boardwalk, and was lucky enough to get 2 days off of work before the trip, so to extend the trip I booked two nights at Pop Century to try something new and save some money...and I loved it almost as much. We're only 3 people so the smaller room was...

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event—Coming to Anaheim Next August

My take: To celebrate 60 years since the 1964 World's Fair, the Carousel of Progress is being moved to the ground floor Wonders of Life dome, with a new Horizons-based show/exhibit built above it. The outside of the dome can be lit up like COP's dome was in New York in 1964, and can coordinate...

What little or minor effects are broken on our favorite attractions?

The water wheel at the Swiss Family Treehouse wasn't working during my last two trips (January and April). And you couldn't hear the Swisskapolka at all unless you were right next to the organ. You used to be able to hear it almost throughout the entirety of Adventureland!
