    Pixar and Disney Theme Parks

There is nothing here that says this a new position. Pixar, as an independant company (regardless of who owns it) needs to have staff in place to protect their properties. I know they have a producer who's sole job is to make sure that all product tie ins (from McDonald's to plush toys to...

    Water Woes and Epcot (3/28)

I wonder if the off/on switch for the waterfall is still accessible from the queue? I distinctly remember a cast member opening an unsecured door in the side of a rock and turning a switch to perform his amazing "magical waters" trick. Of course, I was 13 or something at the time and may be...

New Teaching Career = New WDW Touring

My amazing wife will soon be finishing up her night classes and entering the world of K-8 education. Once she is done with her student teaching, we'll be in a position to visit WDW again, a trip we are looking forward too even though it is at least 16-months out. But our ability to travel in...

12/12 Expedition Everest Photo Update - Signs up

I think the mountain is visible enough that a large sign is somewhat redundant. It isn't like there are any other attractions nearby to compete with.

    Disney Yearbook

And just minutes later the monkey snatched a coin out of the chest, leaving open the possibility that the curse could begin again. If Barbossa were only mostly dead.... "Hey! Hello in there. Hey! What's so important? What you got here that's worth living for?" "...red rum..." The new...

Exclusive New Photos of Inside Everest!!

Just to add to this, Disney does this for other attractions currently. Only one I have personal experience on is Buzz Lightyear. When it E-stops, guardrails made of cable and chain raise along the sides of the ride track to stop people from falling into the scenes. They lower again after the...

    "Expedition Everest" Entrance?!

Good ideas never die. Several of the show scenes from Western River Expedition ended up in the World of Motion. Wait, did I just say good ideas never die?

    "Expedition Everest" Entrance?!

In a way it will be. Everest will be very visible from parts of the rapids ride. It will certainly give you more to look at.

    Pirates Sequel Villian

WILD SPECULATION 1: They set this up at the end of the last movie. The monkey reached into the treasure chest and removed a coin ... and then somehow moves the curse to Barbossa. Either way, there is an undead monkey on the loose (undead monkey!). WILD SPECULATION 2: Barbossa's soul (and Boot...

Disney to launch Mobile Phone Service

The Walt Disney Internet Group and Sprint have announced an agreement through which Disney will create a national U.S. wireless phone service specifically designed for families. The service, called Disney Mobile, will use the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network and is slated to launch next year...

    Resorts test ticket vending machines

Sounds like part of the plot to "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" by Cory Doctorow. It is available free for download from the author's website. http://craphound.com/down/download.php

    Mr. Toads wild ride cars

Remember: Disney came first so other theme parks, especially early on, went out of their way to copy disney. Someone should pull together a collection of photos of non-disney teacup rides. There are a bunch of them. Not to mention parks built with a train station and a turn of the century area...

Any hope for MK's Space Mountain?

Question: I was under the impression that, while space mountain was the first enclosed coaster, it is really just a clone of the Matterhorn at Disneyland with space themeing. Having never ridden the Matterhorn, I have no idea if there is an ounce of truth to that. Wait, that wasn't a...

    Haunted Mansion Comics!?!

4 comics in total Haunted Mansion Gargoyles (from the original producer of the show) Wonderland (following the adventures of the Disney's Alice in Wonderland characters after Alice left) And Tron. The intersting bit about Tron is that the story is described as a bridge between the TRON2.0...

    WDW Admission Policy Change

In umpteen (OK, 6) trips to DIsneyworld, I have never used the hand stamp re-entry system. I always just presented my park hopper pass. Never was asked to see a stamp, never had a problem getting into the parks, back into a park, or switching between two (or three) parks in a single day.

    TTA Rehab

At Disneyland, yes. But GM is a big sponsor at Disneyworld. Unless GM decides not to reup their sponsorship deal, but that won't be until 2009. Honda's Test Track probably wouldn't be any different, but I bet their post show display would be more interesting.

    The Living Seas/Nemo Overlay

A small device could cause terrible damage almost anywhere at Disney. Disney used to tout (back in the mid 90s) that they could evacuate all of the water out of The Living Seas in 2 minutes if need be. This was a requirement of the insurance number crunchers who were afraid the pressure of...

Man falls out of Balcony at Contemporary Resort

Depression and suicidal thoughts can be heightened during times happiness and joy. The time of the year with the most suicides is between Thanksgiving and New Years. In short, if your perception is "this is the happiest time of the year" or "this is the happiest place on earth" and you yourself...

    "Modern Marvels" filming at WDW

I'd place my bets near the time when the ride opens. And History Channels sister channel (or mother channel) Discovery runs the show about the real expedition to Everest looking for Yeti (and real fauna). Perhaps the Science channel will have something as well. I think it is interesting that...

Noodles - not for you! (Even longer!)

Well, if you pull CMs from El Pirata and Aunt Pollys to staff the Terrace, then those restaurants wouldn't have the staff needed to stay open full time. I'd rather know a restaurant is going to be open/closed the entire day than find out that the restaurant you saw open in the morning is closed...
