Do refurbishments ever have soft openings or open earlier than first stated? Seems like a long time just to fix some lighting. Plus I will be there the end of February and would love to ride this :-D
If it was me going to Disney for the first time, I would start with the Magic Kingdom. I don't think my kids or I would be able to wait till the last day of our trip. Especially if I'm staying right next door at the Contemporary.
My kids and I have been playing it online for a couple days now. It's actually kind of addictive. You can find it on the movie web site under games http://disney.go.com/wreck-it-ralph/#/games/fix-it-felix
I don't understand why the Disney Channel doesn't air some of the old shows that my 10 year old loved watching like Bear in the Big Blue House, JoJo's Circus, PB&J, Stanley and Rollie Pollie Ollie. Or some of the ones I grew up with like Duck Tales, Gummie Bears, TaleSpin or Dark Wing Duck...
It would be nice if they put JoJo and Goliath back on Playhouse Disney. My oldest daughter loved that show when she was younger. They would fit in well with the whole Circus/Dumbo theme in the new fantasyland expansion.
My family did it the last time we were there. We all thought it was fun, but it did take up a lot of time. I think it is a great way to get people to go into shops and countries that they would normally not go into.
On my last trip, while waiting for our room to be ready at Pop Century, my kids watched a couple of the classic Mickey short cartoons in the waiting area. They loved them. I recently noticed that the Disney channel airs a classic short when there is a couple minutes in between some shows, but...
DHS has always been a full day park for my family. Since I have small children we can do every attraction except for TOT and RRC. I think AK has way less to do. We usually do the Safari and sometimes the Nemo show, and then we are out of there.
(If you haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet, don't read this.) Has the Lotso meet and greet line gotten shorter since the movie has been released? I was wondering if kids would be afraid of him, since they now know that he is an evil bear. I'm sure a lot of people thought he was cute before the movie...
LOL, they really need to move the Maelstrom movie to before the ride, then more people would actually watch it. I've done the Maelstrom tons of times, and never watched the movie.
From experience, if you have a pregnant wife and a young child, your agenda is probably gonna be thrown out the window. More than likely you are going to be following their schedule. Relax, take it easy, and have fun.
Has anyone ever thought of making the Tomorrowland Speedway into a Cars theme? I've always thought it was a waste of space, and not very exciting. If they updated the cars and made them look like the cars from the movie, I'm sure it would be a hit.
