What is Disney doing to its customer life cycle?

I can tell you it’s already happening for me. It’s been just over 5 years since my wife and I have been to WDW. I had the date marked on my calendar for a long time of when I could book a room for October 1st to be there for the 50th, but then changed our minds because we felt like it wasn’t...

WDW As The Only Vacation Option: Why?

Wow. This is an incredibly sad view of the rest of the world.

Do the fans always seem to know what's best?

Good lord no! I’d hedge a bet that no one this board has ever ran a multi billion dollar company

WDW As The Only Vacation Option: Why?

I think you’re getting an unfair sample pool. Your “casual fans” are less likely to post regularly on a message board so you are only seeing the above average person here. I think if you were to question 100 random people at WDW they would not say they only vacation there.

Was Disney World better years ago? Your thoughts.

Probably like most things in life, but WDW just seems unnecessarily complicated at this point. From that alone I say yes the parks were better years ago. Say what you will about cost or quality of attractions or cleanliness, etc., the fact that I (more or less) have to plan my vacation down to...

Are the memories > the present?

I think this is my biggest fear, if you will, is having all of these great memories tarnished in some way. Obviously that may not happen! We may go again this year, next year, whenever, and have an excellent trip! But even as I'm saying this, I'm thinking to myself that there are always reasons...

Are the memories > the present?

With the 50th coming up I've been thinking a lot about past trips and the memories/nostalgia and wondering if those memories are better than the present. Between, let's say 2000-ish and 2016, I went to WDW at least once every year, and now I'm coming up on almost 5 years without a trip. My...

    USA Mickey Head Tervis

A few years ago I bought a Tervis mug off eBay and I’m looking for another. This particular mug was several small Mickey heads all red, white, and blue patterned and I assume it was from the American pavilion a number of years ago. It was a beloved mug and sadly our puppy got to it! I’ve been...

Update - I was able to find a picture of the mug post puppy chewing!

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

I think Disney simply waited too long to build anything substantial with Star Wars. Because of the timing SWGE will always appear like a reaction to HP instead of building first to be proactive. Whether it’s “better” or not is almost irrelevant in my mind - if you aren’t first, you’re last!

    Cell phones on rides (rant)

This has been an issue since the stone ages when people would bring cameras with flashes and not know how to (or not care to) turn the flash off. Aside from stopping the ride every time it happens and telling the person to put their phone away, I’m not sure how much can really be done.

Why are so many adults are obsessed with WDW?

Great post! Any chance you could just copy and paste all of this into any/all of the why is WDW so expensive threads?! “Nonstop entertainment” hits the nail on the head so perfectly.

Is a fifth gate even possible?

Just imagine how long it would take! SWGE has taken 4+ years since announcement (I believe it was 2015 right?) to build 14 acres and a single ride. MK is over 100 acres...at that rate it would take almost 30 years to build a 5th gate similarly sized to MK.

Disney is going to price us out of the Kingdom..

The $10k was an arbitrary number. Maybe $2k prices people out, the number doesn’t matter. I know there is no universal which is why I asked the question.

Disney is going to price us out of the Kingdom..

All you people claiming to be priced out, what are you going to do? Do you just stop vacationing all together? Do you go to different places? Do you only go to WDW once every 5 years (or whatever the magic number is)? I’m genuinely curious. If say $10k prices you out of a Disney vacation...

Disney is going to price us out of the Kingdom..

You absolutely do not “have to” buy anything from Disney. Going is a luxury and should be treated as such.
