Taking a child that's not my own ... What do I do?

Forget it! Have an adult adventure!! Have the kind of fun that people have when they don't have kids around. Honestly, if you take her I think the trip will be all about her, and you'll end up playing parent instead of being young & fun (I imagine that single people are always flirting and...

EPCOT needs help, and other recent onsite observations ( 9/8 thru 9/12)

COP **old** theme song  The old theme song for COP (back when it was sponsored by GE) was.......... **************************************** Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of our lives. Life is a prize, live every minute, open the doors and watch how it...

    Princess LUnch in Norway

Most ever... When I took my daughter to the breakfast, she at 4 servings of the fruit and 2 plates of the bacon. That's a HUGE deal for a 4 year old who usually picks at things, gets distracted, then is STARVING at exactly the wrong time. I enjoyed the breakfast (better if they had...

    Backstage Secret or no?

Accidents Hey, if you **accidentally** go through a door.... looking for a "bathroom" or whatever (remember, so many people are lost and confused.... this is something to play to your advantage) and someone asks you if you need help, then.... well.... you won't get thrown out of the park...

    How Old Is Too Old?

I wonder... Maybe the put the characters back in a quiet place in ToonTown in the MK and only let 15 or so people in at a time so that we can get our "character fix" in private instead of standing in line in front of Cinderella's castle etc??? Also, I've found that meeting the characters in...

Whats it like to be a Disney Character..Cast member

Research into Tours I was a CM and happily will share stories HOWEVER those of you who are finding you have a really passion for the "backstage" stuff should look into some of the special tours and programs WDW does. There are fees for the special programs, but they are great -- special...

Looking for people that have stayed at OKW

Great... for relaxing... but hated the busses  Loved it. HOWEVER I am *not* a fan of Disney Busses. With 2 kids and huge stroller, it's a PAIN to fold it all up and get on a bus... especially hard to not knock people, etc. We brought our car to get around that. Creative parking...

    McDonald's Toys

Toys and MORE I saw the ad when my 4 year old was watching (what else?) the Disney Channel. Besides the toys, there are GAME CARDS in every Happy Meal/Mighty Meal. 100 cards will be WINNERS for a free family trip to WDW. Everyone else gets a cool hologram card. GOOD LUCK! Now we all...

Amazingly dumb and sometimes funny things other guests say...

Old Story I worked at WDW in 1988 and that story was circulating back then as a warning to CM's to not be smart mouthed. The story ends with the guests getting in their cars, going back to 1-4 to find the exit, re-entering, re-parking then getting the CM's a** fired. :hammer:

Club Management degree = job at Disney?

Great! As a history prof, I give you a BIG HIGH 5  Maybe you'll get a PT/seasonal job @ WDW and.... who knows? The average person goes through 3 career changes. Having a broad background and being well spoken will take you FAR. All the best Melissa

Club Management degree = job at Disney?

Job/Degree As a professor, I can tell you that no degree guarantees a job... you have to get the education you crave and know that the job hunt is separate. Disney was my brother's dream job; he worked there every summer and for a year before getting an Ivy League MBA. But he never got a...

Do you think this will make a huge difference?

As an interviewer.... I interview lots of people (not at WDW) and I promise you they will remember you after all your contacts with them. The WAY you communicated will be noted (positive or negative) and I'll bet your follow-up was appreciated. Good Luck!!!

    Merchandise Job?

Not bad at ALL! My college summer @ WDW was spent rotating between Guest Services and Merchandise. Really, all positions can be Guest Services if you want them to be -- you have the power to make someone's trip *magical*, so since you're already excited, I know you'll be great at it!!!

    Favorite WS Epcpt Country: Italy

Italy is, without a doubt, the most comfortable and enjoyable "country" to spend a lazy afternoon with my parents, grandparents and 2-year old. We love the music. We love to watch the art students who gather to sketch. We love the Statue Act... and above all we LOVE the Masquerade, performed by...

    Behind the Scenes

Before I worked @ WDW, I was dying to get a "peek" at the backstage stuff, and yes, a tour was well worth the bucks.... But then I worked there for a summer and totally got my fill of going in & out of the doors, underground, behind things.... (Yes, CMs do get annoyed at touristing CMs...

    Thanks to Cast of Masquerade/Italy

Thanks Yeah, I did send an email address in the letter along with the pictures. I feel like a dork because it's so important to me that they know how great they are. I've been going to the parks since 1975, and I worked there for a summer -- we're annual passholders, and despite all that I can...
