News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Yeah it’s so weird that a property owner gets to decide who lives on their property. I’m sure you’d just let anyone camp out on your yard.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This. There are only so many options (especially without reconfiguring queues) and if it’s not something people can easily think of then it’s not going to be easy to explain to hundreds of people per day.

Space 220 - is it a real elevator?

The entry space was originally designed as two stories and even had an unused elevator shaft. The entry space was a late addition for Compaq that was intended as a meeting and demonstration space for their guests. Because it was a late addition it couldn’t be added to the sponsor lounge so it...

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Recognizing negative outcomes is not support for those outcomes. Banning people happens after the fact. You’ve still subjected people to harassment or an altercation.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

While it is the most visible part of the law that people can see and experience, the ADA is much more expansive than just the design of physical spaces.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Making people pause their wait is going to be an even bigger logistical nightmare and one with legal issues. Pushing people back into a queue where they physically left but not in the order of people is going to create a perception of cutting and problems. There is a reason Lightning Lanes...

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Disney doesn’t have to give people whatever they want but they also can’t just offer whatever they want. The objective of the law and regulations is to remove as much gatekeeping as possible. Accommodations are supposed to be available not something people jump through hoops to obtain.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I don’t know where you even got that from. Because the law and subsequent regulations do have defined objectives. How you get to what is considered meeting those objectives is what varies wildly. Go read through some of the Department of Justice settlements and agreements. Go read stories of...

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Limiting access below what is generally available is illegal. Just being an amusement park doesn’t really matter. How people experience the park is a major factor. Morgan’s Wonderland doesn’t mention any sort of line accommodation on its website but that doesn’t mean parks don’t actually have...

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Different venues exist in a different context. This is nowhere near close to true. Even when Disney was building the half day parks they were aiming for 7 attractions per day. Taking the position that any physical disability can be accommodated with a mobility device is ignoring actual needs.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

The photos don’t show any signs of corrosion. It is a fiberglass coated product. By being exposed it was also able to dry. Just goes to show that Disney isn’t alone in projects being dragged out.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Are yelling and raising one’s voice really one and the same? Something like a surprised “What?!” would be said in a raised voice but not yelling, much less the verbal abuse that people are now claiming. Even crying is sometimes at a higher volume than one’s typical speaking voice.

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

The glass mat sheathing is water resistant but it alone does not do everything required of a building envelope. It’s not just rain you have to keep out but also water vapor. The weather barrier also provides a continuous plane to drain moisture that does get through the finish whereas the...

New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

They didn’t. eXP Board is gypsum-based glass mat sheathing, not EPS rigid insulation. A liquid applied weather barrier would look like paint.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This is currently being challenged in court. The law very much does state that providing proof is to minimized and limited. There are a lot of violations out there and their continued existence is not evidence of compliance. There was a period where people with legitimate needs were being...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Their function is the foundation for the pole and by being raised they keep the pole itself above water sheeting along the walkway. One of the poles that fell at Disneyland had signs of corrosion, possible from having its base too low.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This question only works if Disney and Six Flags are considered equivalent experiences. There are all sorts of reasons why someone would go to Disney but not Six Flags that are well discussed.

Rumor New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Some queues have an attendant lane which is basically an extra lane that allows employees to get around the queue without squeezing past everyone. They typically run along the side of switchback areas. Sometimes they are obvious because they are clearly delineated by queue rail. In other cases...
