MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Thanks for the research. I don’t know enough about soil cement permeability nor Florida water management regulations to understand why they are able to leave that in situ. But obviously it’s not an issue. Bonus that they don’t have to jackhammer it all out!

MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

The entire bottom of RoA is concrete, correct? Due to water management issues, I assume this means not just dumping dirt on top of the concrete, but rather removing the concrete first. If so, that’s a whole lot of loud demo work.

EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

In all the years of Virtual Queues, I’ve never *not* secured a boarding group … until today. Struck out at 7 and 1. Gone in milliseconds. They must be releasing very few BGs. Luckily, they seemed to get through all the BGs, and opened up the queue to all APs around 5:30pm today. The regular...

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

All reports seem to indicate shuttling between Main Street and Fantasyland stations, which seems … odd. I wonder why they wouldn’t include Frontierland.

EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I agree. However, I would say this is a failure of Disney to update and provide adequate capacity, not a failure of concept. And, truthfully, I’d still take that concept and its outdated tech over the current replacement, which, IMO, lacks creativity, vision, and sense of awe.

News V.I.PASSHOLDER Days Coming in June at Walt Disney World

Genie did appear in the AP lounge last year

EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I believe that was an option for the latest Epcot renovation that was *not* chosen … keeping/rehabbing the the Communicore/Innoventions East and west buildings, updating the fountain, adding more trees, etc.

MK Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

May be a question for @lentesta, but has any retheme been surveyed as “less popular” than the ride/version it replaced, especially when measured within the first year of replacement? I’m sure Tiki Room Under New Management was voted higher by guests than what it replaced. Similarly, was the...

News Magic Kingdom's Main Street Emporium Under Construction, Shortcut Blocked

More philosophical and psychological than tinfoil hat. Nor are his conclusions earth shattering. But an interesting take on how we got here. Some conclusions: “Appeasing homogenous, mass consumer markets improves profits in all sorts of things. There's a related shift in music, where...

News Magic Kingdom's Main Street Emporium Under Construction, Shortcut Blocked

Related to this change, and other recent de-colored-centric changes at the resort, WDW simply seems to be following the trend (instead of leading, unfortunately, imo). An interesting X thread about the topic:

News Magic Kingdom's Main Street Emporium Under Construction, Shortcut Blocked

@DCBaker, once again I’m in awe of your ability to know that something is new, get pics of it, and get it up on here, all within within minutes of the park opening.

WSJ: Even Disney Is Worried About The High Cost Of A Disney Vacation (gift link)

I’m trying to remember a very famous person who is often quoted about not getting all your business advice from “sharp pencil guys.” Let me see, who could that be? 😉

DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

The Nemo queue is more interesting than the omnimover ride. I’m not sure there’s a bigger downgrade than the Living Seas to Seas with Nemo. The hydrolaters were … ok, sorry, @MisterPenguin, now I’m just messing with ya.😊 Thanks for trying to keep thing on track.

New Evolv AI security scanners & bag-check procedures implemented at the parks

I wonder if this is why Disneyland never went to using this system. I’ve heard reasons ranging from “too many bad things got through when DL tested it” to “the union for security folks fought against it.” I will say, the DL security lines were some of the most frustrating lines in the park...

    EPCOT Soarin' new ending ?

So, do I see both the Celebration Garden floor lights and the Comminicore Hall wall lights on at the same time? Were they ever both functional at the same time, or did they CGI one/both of them in?

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I salute you and your staff, good sir. I loves me some data. I bet you heard “Help me, Smee!” in your nightmares, though.

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure Standby Line and Lighting Lane status

A scant 18 minutes from a perfect day of being open from rope drop to close, with no downtime. Of course, I guess they could have stopped calling BGs 18 mins early in order to clear the line by a reasonable time, instead of for a technical breakdown. Has Tiana had a perfect day yet?

Active Shooter Scare/Lockdown at Magic Kingdom (Ended up being no shooter)

A couple reports on Twitter, some about moving guests backstage, some about not letting folks leave. One with a video of what looks like guests listening to a CM in the bypass, but it’s hard to tell if it’s current or old. Could just be circular reporting, or something really happening. Edit...
