News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Apologies if this was covered somewhere in this thread, but what's the deal with the bare, black speakers that are obviously thrown onto the Mansion facade's balconies to facilitate the new (and far too noisy) background music? They really couldn't bother to conceal those at all? I was overall...

Phantom Manor is a very different attraction.

    2023 attendance numbers are out

Some very obnoxious posts here. It'd be nice to have a real conversation about these numbers. (Are we forgetting that all the parks work with the TEA to massage these? They are in no way accurate.)

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

If you want some solid food without leaving the property, I strongly recommend Vivo in Citywalk. Great drinks, tasty food, shockingly reasonable prices.

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Aha! So it *is* covered by the fullboard plan purchasable with Sequoia Lodge reservations? Is it possible to add the fullboard plan after the hotel/ticket reservations have already been made?

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Everything about what you're saying here makes sense except for the unfortunate fact that the full board plan does not include Walt's, which we'd really like to visit.

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

We're missing Storybookland (bummer), Hyperspace Mountain (kind of a bummer but also maybe not super essential in its current form?), the Parachute Drop (don't really care), and the Carpets (really don't care). It is nice that they seem to be investing in regular refurbishments after so many...

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

The selection from the hotel site specified "near facilities," so I assume that's main building. Is it better to request a lodge?

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

For what it's worth, this still happens. On our last visit, we saw Mad Hatter and Alice ride the Tea Cups. Mary Poppins and Bert rode the carousel.

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

An update: We were initially going to book Hotel Cheyenne but realized upgrading to Sequoia Lodge was less than $100 total, so we went with that. That theme is definitely more our style, and it appears to be a smidge closer to the parks. We also had great luck getting dining reservations. We...

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Thanks for this. I do like having AC, so we may go up a tier to the Hotel Cheyenne.

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Is there anything particularly wrong with the Hotel Santa Fe? We really only need a convenient place to crash and a way to access on-site perks like early park entry.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I don't think it has been fixed yet. Ridiculous but apparently the standard now - more than a few major figures that have been missing or broken for months on end.

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Thank you all for the advice. Sounds like the half board plan is the way to go - I think I can get the math to math there. I don't think I'm seeing any real "offers" popping up - not sure where those would appear, but if someone could point me in the right direction on that front, I'd...

Planning to visit for the first time - stupid question

Hi there, I'm about to be one of those people. I have zero experience with Disneyland Paris but am going to be in the area for a few days this May. We were thinking two nights in an on-site hotel with 2.5-3 days in the parks. Am I wrong in thinking the best way to go about this is to just book...

Has anyone gotten a Blue Bayou reservation for January 2024?

When I was hunting for reservations for a January 7th trip, Blue Bayou did not appear with the rest of the in-demand offerings. I wasn't gunning for it, so I didn't really think much of it at the time, but yeah, that's odd.

Disneyland establishes "designated pin trading area"

I mean this with all due respect and sincerity, but I think people are justifiably expressing their relief that a disruptive and at times unpleasant phenomena has ended. This isn't about making anyone feel small. It's clear that you enjoyed participating, but I think it's also worth considering...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

I love the Chucky franchise - even at its weirdest and when it's clear they only got a few dimes and nickels to make a movie. If you want to be caught up for the house and catch all the references, you really need to watch -- Child's Play 2 Bride of Chucky Seed of Chucky Cult of Chucky Chucky...

News Pacific Wharf to be Reimagined into San Fransokyo

It's pretty embarrassing, frankly. They couldn't even pull off the meager new decorations promised by the concept art. It looks like something Six Flags would do to spruce up a forgotten corner of one of its parks.
