    Who remembers 1985??

My first trip to WDW was in June of 1985, I was 12. Of course I was amazed by it all, particularly EPCOT Center. We stayed on the resort property, which to us was a HUGE big deal. And we were there for "3 whole days!" We stayed at the Club Lake Villas, which were octagonal shaped little...

Question for all you so called "purists"......

How do you make a poll on this board? Such as "What Light bulb would make you NOT want to go back to Disney World?"

    Segways at World Showcase?

My cousin is disabled and has his own ECV. We take it to the park every time we go. No one has ever said one word that this violates any rule.

    My Thoughts on AP Rates

Then I'll go by what you think, Belle. You always seem "in the know". :) I agree, I normally only go to WDW once every 2 years or so. But I'm thinking of buying an AP, so I know I'll go several times a year. I do have a CM cousin, but I can't bug him about getting me a room all of the...

    My Thoughts on AP Rates

Could this be what they want? Maybe they are trying to "thin the herd" of APs for some reason? Maybe those scientific bean-counters spreadsheets are telling them they are losing profit margin on APers?

    Disney CM friends/family discount?

CM's can book multiple rooms at their discount. My cousin works at Epcot, and here's what he did for our last trip. He has a CM website that he makes our room reservations at. He puts in the dates of our trip and then the site shows which resorts are available. It was about 3 months out, so only...

    'Ohana and Wishes

I've watched fireworks from both O'hana and California Grill. My tables were terrible both times! (At California Grill we had the worst table in the place...in the very back room. We actually saw Illuminations at Epcot off in the distance!) But, there is a viewing deck on the roof of the...

AWESOME! Now where else in the World are you going to donate that extra $300 to Mickey? :)

Please Help w/my On v. Off Property Decision

I think the ease or hassle of the bus system is dependant on where you are taking the bus to or from. From the AKL, the busses are frequent and speedy. I've never had a problem with waiting for a bus. However, last month we were taking a Friendship boat from Epcot to MGM and a storm came up and...

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

Woo-hoo! Thanks for the tip! I've never heard about this card. Any other AP add-ons or perks I should know about but probably don't? :)

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

It does -- I'm in Houston, but I'm originally from Fort Worth / Dallas. DDE cards...not familiar with that. Can someone explain?

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

Belle -Also, when you mentioned 6-10%, did you mean that the regular AP rate will be 6-10% higher than the AP best rate, or that the AP regular rate will be a total discount of 6-10% of the rack rate? (Is this a math problem or what?? )

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

DisneyinBigD, I read on Mousesavers.com that if you purchase the AP online, choose the mail delivery. The voucher you receive has your AP number on it, so you can use it right away. Just make sure not to select the "will call" option otherwise you will not have your AP number for reservations...

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

Thanks Belle! You seem to be full of great information! That totally helps. I think with the AP I will make a point to visit the parks 2 or 3 times during the year so I will get the value of the AP. Fortunately with my job I travel a lot, so I earn free flights on Southwest very quickly so I can...

Off Season Rates At DisneyWorld Resorts

I'm considering buying an AP. I've never had one before. I understand that room discounts are a perk and are not guaranteed to be continue. But, what kind of hotel discounts has the AP gotten in the past? I have read about the new "Best Rate Program" and that APers have to book their rooms on...

    newbie with question

I vote for Animal Kingdom Lodge also! That being said, I can only vote for AKL because that is the only place I have stayed on property over my last several visits. We love it so much we can't even bring ourselves to try to book another resort, even though we know we would love them. The AKL is...
