The current President speaking seems to have been mostly to provide something new every 4 or 8 years to draw more people in as a marketing gimmick. I don't think that they foresaw that a small percentage of the population would become insane when they came up with the idea.

That is very true. I just would think if they were drastically inflating wait times on purpose to sell LL that it would show up even in a small sample size.

They could make some changes to the show and mix it up with a little creativity.

They could remove all of (well most of) the controversy by stopping the practice of featuring the current President in a speaking role and still maintain the spirit of the attraction.
